I have been going to/ordering from Gearo's for over 20 yrs. The food is always hit or miss and yet I keep going there. If you go into the place and sit down you have a better chance of getting great food. If you pick up or have it delivered you will always find something missing, wrong or not up to expected standards. Prime example is my order delivered tonight. $65.89 plus tip. Over priced and over charged, order wrong missing item and food sub par. Example 1. Broiled shrimp and scallops- missing the corn and the corn bread was under cooked/doughy. Example 2- Ordered item from the website- $16.99 chicken parm with veggies and mashed. Requested broccoil with butter to be cooked soft. What did I get? Chicken marinara with mashed for $17.79 PLUS they charged me $5.00 for a side of pretty much raw broccoli with no butter on it. WTH? Now, I called to complain about the chicken parm not having any cheese- before I even looked at the receipt and before I knew about the corn and cornbread or the over charging. I thought it was the cook who messed it up but it was actually the order taker, the cook and whoever bagged the order. That's 3 ppl who could have all saved the business from this bad review. Nobody checks the other. Nobody listens to the customer. It's really sad. Aside from that, the street name was spelled wrong with the wrong zip code and it is NOT the 1st time they have delivered here. The other 2 items were a cheese stk and hoagie and they were done ok except they NEVER cut the damn things. When I come into the place and sit down to eat, my sandwiches are full and cut. When I have them delivered/take out they are thinly made and never cut in half. It makes zero sense. Needless to say, I am done...
Read moreI can’t believe I’m actually writing a bad review for this place but unfortunately here it goes. My parents and I have been going to Gearos for YEARS (I am 24 and my mom was pregnant with me when they first started). Gearos was known for the great food, atmosphere, and friendly staff that always kept us coming back. Through the years I have brought countless friends and family to this place for numerous occasions such as dinner after high school father-daughter dances, birthdays, or just to spend time together. However, about 5+ years ago they started making some significant changes to the way they made some of their dishes (what used to be their amazing wings are now completely flavorless) that made me and my family look for other places to eat. 2 months ago my best friend and I decided to give this place another chance. Per usual we had a great waitress that brought us our mozzarella sticks right away followed by my chicken parm sandwich with fries and my friends cheesesteak with fries. We had a great time and from what we could tell from that moment the food was good. The next day (Saturday) was a different story. We don’t know what went wrong in the kitchen but both of had food poisoning for the next 4 days. Unfortunately I don’t think I will ever be able to go to my favorite family restaurant/sports...
Read moreI took my family here last night and we had a great experience.
The service was good, our waitress was attentive and came back to check on us a couple of times. She helped us feed the kids fast (which is a big help), and even got my boys some crayons to play with.
The food here was good! I don’t want to say I’m surprised, this is a neighborhood pizza pub and the pizza should be good.
We had some buffalo wings to start off, and we ordered the kids their own “mini pizza” which they both loved. Myself and my wife ordered a “Pie In The Sky” Large pizza and it was hot and fresh. The toppings were good, and I was very happy with the quality. The food came out quick as the kitchen wasn't that busy.
I thought the price was right too, as any time I can take my whole family out for dinner for less than $50, I’m thrilled.
Definitely recommend Gearo’s if you’re in the area and you’re looking for a spot to sit down and have a pizza with the family.
NOTE: This was a Tuesday night (early – 6PMish) and we got there before any dinner rush, so I can imagine this place being a lot...
