I just received the order that I placed through doordash, and there is a long black hair in my milk tea, hanging out from under the seal. This is absolutely unacceptable, unsanitary, and honestly disgusting. First time Iāve ever been unhappy with bubble tea. Besides that, the garlic chicken was a huge disappointment as well. It didnāt taste freshly made, it didnāt seem to have any garlic flavor at all, and the chicken was dark meat, and of questionable quality. I only took one bite before throwing it in the trash. Iāve worked in the food and beverage service industry for 17 years, and would not normally leave a one star review over a hair. I understand that sometimes things happen, but based on other negative reviews I read for this same location, its safe to assume unsanitary practices are a regular occurrence at this location, so I highly recommend going elsewhere. Mr. Wish on Bustleton Ave has great bubble tea, and is super clean. Iāve also been to the Kung Fu Tea on Grant Ave, and was also very pleased with the quality and cleanliness there. I would avoid this Cottman store at all costs. This establishment doesnāt just serve beverages, it also serves chicken and shellfish (shrimp), which are two foods that can cause serious foodborne illness if not handled properly. My biggest concern with this establishment would be the risk of cross contamination, and I base that on another customerās review which stated they witnessed an employee wipe the rim of her cup with the same rag they had just wiped down the counter with, and by doing so, any germs, viruses, bacteria, etc that had been on the counter were now on the customerās cup as well, putting her at a much higher risk of contracting a foodborne illness. I have personally sat through an 8 hour Food Safety course required rand received my Food Safety Certification by passing the exam required specifically for owners and managers in the food service industry, which is more in depth and extensive than the standard Food Handlers exam alone. The required score to pass is 70%. My exam score was 97% Iām not writing this review to bad mouth this establishment, Iām writing it to hopefully help someone avoid food poisoning, and to hopefully encourage the owner/ management to start following proper food safety procedures and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTrying a new thing, Bubble Teas! So I decided to buy 4 and have my family sample them. But first- The Store- friendly helpful staff, no wait, clean, inviting chairs/tables w games to sit and enjoy your beverage. Easy to find, metered parking which takes coins.
We were looking for an alternative to the same old beverages and found these to be.. delish, refreshing.. fun to drink. I have to say the selection of teas (the base) could make this a healthier alternative to other beverages if choosing wisely - green tea for one, but the syrups are high in sugar - just a warning. There are soo many toppingsā ( which sink to the bottom and require a large diameter straw) to choose from, gotta mention the Mango popping bubbles were a big hit. Noone appreciated the Pearls- slippery/chewing dark colored balls that are iconic to the Bubble tea name. The drinks were Honey Green Tea w/nato jelly, Strawberry Lemonade w/aloe jelly, Passionfruit w/ pearls and Caribbean breezy w/ mango bubbles. (Price range $5-$7ish ea) Everyones favorite was the Honey Green tea- nice flavor (approx 150 cals), wish there was a mint option to give it a 5star rating. The Strawberry lemonade was pretty good as well. The last 2 we soo sweet, (with well over 300-400 calories) good but even my kids added water to dilute it a bit. Those mango popping bubbles though! ...
