Larry's Steaks — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I went to Larry's to pickup food for someone else. I tried to place the order over the phone but was unsuccessful. The young lady who answered phone was having difficulty with "customizing" the Italian hoagie I was ordering so I decided to just go and place order in person. I arrived to having the same young lady still having difficulty keying the toppings I wanted. Another young lady, slightly older than the first young lady intervened and started keying in the toppings. My order was finally placed and the total was $9.56. I gave the young lady $20.06 to which she hits the $20 button on the cash register. When she hands me my change, which should have been $10.50, it was $10.45. I said, "I gave you $20.06 and you still owe me five cents",to which she says "we don't have any nickels because of the ongoing change shortage". I then reminded her that I gave you $20.06, of which there was a nickel. She then says "oh here". Had the order been for me, I would have said here's your change back just give me my $20.06 because I don't want to be shorted a nickel because of the ongoing change shortage". I wait outside for 10 minutes then go back in to retrieve the order and one of the cooks says "here's your italian hoagie" as he places it on the counter and continues his conversation with three "unmasked" people. I'm still shaking my head at the horribleness of the horribleness. And to make matters worse, the cook puts the "supposed to be room temperature" hoagie on top of the hot oven. I don't eat anything from there. And I suggest you DON'T either. And after all of this, the person who ate the hoagie said that the hoagie was "fair". I think she was being kind but I don't know. Chicken Fingers- They recently changed their chicken fingers and they are soooo nasty . They used to have all real meat chicken tenders . Now they have the cheap tenders with meat fillers. The chicken fingers are mechanical and all look the same . The meat is a little rubbery . Please bring the old ones back .

Pizza- their pizza is REALLY good if your ordering a box of pizza . If your getting a slice or 2 it’s nasty . They already have some made on the counter in plain cheese and add your toppings to it as you want or don’t want . But the pizza is cold and they don’t put it in the oven long enough . My pizza was giving to me warm, with fresh cheese on top . It wasn’t even melted .

Credit/Debit card - sign says spend $10 minimum to use a card . My total came to $11.50, and she charges me $1.00 to use my credit card bringing to $12.50. Rip off ...

Positives: the restaurant is clean and updated. It’s place where you don’t mind dining in instead of taking out. The staff are nice and professional . Prices are reasonable. They have a great lunch special menu . And their pizza is DEVINE, only if you order a fresh box .. reviewed on this...

Their customer service is terrible. I order food today around 9:30pm tonight for my coworker who works 3rd shift. When I realized an hour had gone by I called and inquired about the order. A lady answer the phone and said that the drivers were behind but will be their shortly. So another hour went by and I still haven’t received a call. So I called again and they told me that the driver tried to call me. But I haven’t received a miss call. They told me that they had the wrong number. So they reported he will be right over. I waited outside for about 15 minutes and still no delivery. So I tried calling back several times to see what was going on but they kept hanging up on me and telling me that they were closed. So I decided to go to the restaurant myself to pick up the order because again it wasn’t for me but for my co worker. When I get there the manager was rude obnoxious and disrespectful. I didn’t have to pay for the order. I definitely will not be ordering again from here for myself or anyone else. I suggest you do the same because they lack customer service skills.
