It’s sad to even write this, but since the days of my childhood this place has gone downhill. The food quality, the culture, and the customer service has gone from satisfactory to horrible within the past five to ten years, and this seems to be a popular consensus among locals....So because I’m from the neighborhood and this place is special to me, it actually took me a while to write a review about my last few visits here which have not been pleasant. So I’ll share a bit about my last visit here was on Friday May 3rd at 11:15pm. I walked in hoping to grab a cheesesteak from here before they closed at 11:30, only to be welcomed by the snark remarks of disgruntled employees. One male worker grunted, “I thought I locked that door”. Which I let that fly by. There were a few other customers in the store still who were being serviced. So one of the young ladies says, “I hope y’all are giving us a tip for coming in so late.” I let that slide by as well, saying to myself “okay, whatever”, I just want my cheesesteak. So as I’m waiting to make my order another female employee comes out of the back chattering with the other employees, then she says in a jokingly yet sly tone, “The guy with the burgundy shirt needs to turn around and leave out.” Okay now you all wanna get personal. Now I go into a whole discussion with these employees about how the store says that it closes at 11:30 and I made it here 15 minutes prior, which is more than enough time to make a cheesesteak. Why am I now going back and forth with employees about a service that they filled out an application for doing, and it’s still before 11:30 as we’re talking lol? I then try to end the discussion by saying to them well the sign says that the store closes at 11:30, so whatever. One of the younger female employees then says, ”We close at what time “we” say we’re closed”. This back and forth exchange goes on with different employees all the way until I get my steak made, which consisted of reheated dry steak meat that they got from the back which was apparently cooked and left over from earlier. Smh, not the first time this has happened, and now the meat is filled with gristle every few bites. Needless to say, after that experience I didn’t even eat the sandwich. That horrible experience was the last straw towards keeping me from going to a place that meant so much to the neighborhood and the tradition of Philly. R.I.P to the spirit of the...

There are a lot of things that can be tolerated with changes that have been made in the store. Even though the steak meat could be better, the food is good, and the serving sizes are more than enough. However, the thing I will not tolerate is disrespect in a place where I come to spend my money. No one should. This cook right here is the reason why this establishment has lost and will continue to lose business. He is rude and disrespectful. The fact that a lot of comments say this and he is still allowed to interact with people the way he does is the problem. This man always has an attitude and goes out of his way to say something slick out of his mouth. Everyone is entitled to have an off-day, but he has one almost every other day. In all my years of coming here, I have never encountered a staff member as rude as he is. Not only have I encountered his horrible attitude, but I witnessed him have so many issues with other people as well. This man reacts with attitude instead of reason and common sense. Many times unprovoked.  Whatever his personal issues are, they're of no concern or fault of the customers. The owner should really listen to their customers more because this is not the only complaint in this review section about this man. His attitude is bad for...

This is the first time I’ve ever in my entire life posted a comment about a business no matter how good or how bad a business has been I’ve never comment on it. I grew up eating Pagano’s cheesesteaks in Cheltenham PA and even though I live in Pottstown now this Friday I’m gonna take my children down to Philly so they can taste a real cheesesteak because all of those places in South Philly that claim to have the absolute best cheesesteaks and all the tourists that go to Philadelphia and eat cheesesteaks there because they’re famous and people are told that they’re the best cheesesteak place those people are truly missing out on a real great, absolutely amazing cheesesteak! There is no better cheesesteak in the world than the one that is served in Pagano’s. They are the real Philadelphia experience and if you go to Philadelphia and don’t eat these cheesesteaks then don’t bother saying that you’ve been to Philadelphia because Pagano’s cheesesteaks are the absolute best thing in...

An Absolute Must-Try in Philly! I stopped by Pagano’s Steaks & Hoagies after an event in Philadelphia, and let me tell you—it was phenomenal! I ordered the Triple Cheesesteak, and my brother had the Triple Chicken Cheesesteak, both with fries. The portions were huge, piping hot, and packed with flavor—we couldn’t even finish them (and we tried!). The atmosphere was just as impressive. There were three guys working behind the counter, and each one was friendly, welcoming, and down-to-earth. One of them even took the time to chat with us when he found out we were from out of state. You could tell they genuinely appreciated our visit, and that kind of hospitality makes a big difference. If you’re in Philly—go here. Whether you dine in or grab takeout, you won’t be disappointed. 10/10 would recommend. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

Ordered a wiz with fried onions, ketchup, salt, pepper, and hot peppers. The roll is light and moist. The meat is minced which is fine but lacked scent of beef. As far as the other ingredients were concerned, everything s was there but didn't really add any noticeable flavor to the sandwich. Overall I would describe it as a place I would know to grab a steak if I were ever in the area again and wanted a steak but probably wouldn't go out of my way to grab a steak sandwich. On the other hand the fries are medium thick cut, crispy and and there are ample fries in an order. Damage: $15.25 for fries and a cheesesteak. Protip: There's a fee for credit card transactions so bring cash.
