Crab & Claw Seafood — Restaurant in Philadelphia

First time trying their food by winning their 1/2 large bushel giveaway. Ordered extra dishes on top of the free 1/2 bushel.

Full order: 1/2 large crab bushel winnings 10 extra crabs Veggie platter with butter garlic sauce Extra butter garlic sauce 1/2 regular & Cajun seafood salad

Crabs: I asked them to steam it for me and was nervous about how it will taste. I like my crabs a certain way and to my surprise they didn’t disappoint! The flavors popped. Even my picky 2 year old loved it so you know it’s good. Each crab had a decent amount of meat for the size.

Veggie platter: the broccoli, potato, and corn was tender and came smothered in the butter garlic sauce. It was an awesome compliment to the crabs. I wish I got another order of it.

Butter garlic sauce: it was hard dipping the crab meat into the sauce due to the size of the meat, but the flavor was awesome. I’m excited to repurpose it for my future meals. Highly recommend if you need an extra pop of savory flavors.

Cajun & regular seafood salad: I had a sample of their Cajun seafood salad at the store and wasn’t really sold. Andrew told me it would be a good idea to get 1/2 of the regular and Cajun so I took his advice. Tried it again when I got home and the Cajun won me over as I kept trying it. Their regular one is good, but the Cajun had a nice punch to it. My husband loved it, too. I regret not getting a bigger size.

Aside from food, the staff were so pleasant. When I walked in, someone immediately helped me. I had to wait a bit for my order and during that time, one employee came to check in on me, which I appreciated. Andrew even came out to check on me as well. Before I left, I decided to get their seafood salad and that’s when Andrew and another employee assisted me with my choice. The politeness and kindness from everyone made the establishment seem like such a family vibe. I’m excited to go back and try other items from their menu.

Bonus: we used the leftover crab shells and legs to make...

I remember when crab and claw was the real deal, since corona they upped the prices and the quality of the crab seems to be off...like farm raised or fake crabs..the crab didn't snap when I tried to tear the leg off..it was kinda bendy and not sharp and hard like the regular shell be...🤔🤔🤔😒😒 I'd say save ya money for Maryland and VA and get something fresh. Cause the price ain't worth me worried about weather it's farm raised or wild caught...are they falling off...?? And after I paid almost $40 and my platter came with an abundance of shrimp as If they trying to overcompensate for the fact I only had 2 snowcrab clusters, I asked for cocktail sauce to go with my shrimp and they told me I had to buy it, so $40 don't get me a cocktail sauce with my food...I didn't ask for extra, just 1..nope never again..was mid😮‍💨

Since i cant reply to the owners comments and he wants to twist my words...I stand on what i said, i didnt question the quality of the product, i said they were farm raised vs wild caught, to be specific. Never said the abundance of shrimp was a bad thing i said you all overcompensated for the fact that it was only 2 snow crab leg clusters in the entire platter and they were tiny and barely had any meat, so you drowned my platter with shrimp to make up for that. And to be honest alot of the seafood in your cold case for display had black spots on them, is that mold or are they gone bad?, And as i mentioned, i didnt get a cocktail sauce and I mentioned that to your employee, when i asked for 1 because 1 was not included with my platter as you said it should be, one of your workers said i had to pay a dollar for it, again...food mid, i wouldn't...

I've had better seafood...I hate giving bad reviews because I'm a business owner and know how it can hurt a business so I will be as honest as I can without being deliberately mean. First time I came here I brought the fish hoagie. The fish wasn't fried hard enough so by time I got home it was soggy so I had to throw it out....the fish tasted frozen and wasnt seasoned. Second time here I got a live half a bushell of crabs....the sizes are med, large, and colossal. The med is actually tiny, large is small, and colossal is a regular size crab that would be considered med large....u cant see what they pick until they bring it out and it was 4 dead ones in there...I live 4.min away so they had to be dead when they put them in there. They fresh seafood is not fresh and had a bad taste after cooking the Whiting. 3rd time here and the last I got a fish platter with combo of seafood....it was mostly all bread on the seafood, no taste and seafood was not fresh. Hopefully they can improve the store based on reviews but not sure what's going on. I was new to area so didn't have any other options until I asked around and found more. It's too pricey for the seafood to be this bad. And the steamed food u cant mess up a machine cooks it on a timer and they just throw season on that so they dont get any points for good steamed food...even supermarkets can do that smh and its...
