Stopped by tonight to try Big Rube's infamous cheesesteak. Sat at the bar and ordered a couple beers and the steak. I got a phone call so I stepped out for 3 minutes to come back to a full new beer and 2 bitten cheesesteak dumped and trashed. What could have been an honest mistake from the young blonde bartender, turned into a sour response, "I'm really sorry but I can't reimburse you for another steak" and "Well did you tell anyone??". This is after I paid and tipped already because I used apple pay. I asked to talk to the manager and she fixed it real fast. She got all snooty with me like it was my fault. I asked for the new beer I paid for and she dumped, and she scoffer and got snooty with me. I used to frequent Pitcher's a lot, its just not a good look, especially after you pay and tip the person and they act all entitled like this. The bar wasn't even busy, so I don't get the attitude. Needless to say the situation could have been handled better.

**On the important note, Big Rube's cheese steak was bangin! Real nice guy too. I apologized to him that he had to make it again, even though the bartender was at fault. Next time I'll take the steak to go. Gotta catch him Thurs - Sat...

Don't be put off by the one star for atmosphere. This is a DIVE bar, and they're well aware of it. It's SUPPOSED to be a dive bar, and you AIN'T gettin' a $6 Tullamore Dew at the Four Seasons. Staff is genial and efficient. If you sit at the bar (and there are few other choices) be prepares to engage in a conversation with a perfect stranger, and he may or may not be wearing a shirt. Chef Big Rube burns some down-home chow with surprising spins like Halal and grass-fed beef. Rolls are custom made by Carangi (the famous S. I love Pitchers for watching the games. I love their mac and cheese. But tonight (playoffs Giants game) the blonde bartender was so out of it that we sat there for 15mins at the bar until we got our first beer. Everytime, I made eye contact she ignored me until I literally had to raise my hand like I was sitting behind a desk, not a bar.
