I’ve visited Philadelphia from Maryland many times to visit my daughter. We decided to give Sheba’s Soul Plate a try because we enjoy good Caribbean food and the restaurant was just across the street from my daughter’s apartment. The food they serve is absolutely the best!!! The flavor is delicious, the spices are just right and not overwhelming…and the portions are enough for seconds and you will definitely want to eat some now and finish later!!! What you don’t see in the pictures is the delicious Mac and Cheese that is being blanketed by all the chicken, salmon, greens, and yams that we couldn’t wait to dive into. I only wish we had discovered the restaurant sooner. My daughter moved from Philly yesterday. Looks like I’ll have a two hour jerk chicken run in my future ;-) Small Restaurant Doing Big Things!!!

The young lady at the front was nice. The restaurant was very smoky when I walked, like grease or something had burned. I got the jerk chicken cheese steak I had a lot of hard pieces of chicken in mine. Didn't even eat half.

These stars across the board are proudly earned. You are welcomed with polite & enjoyable service then acknowledged even if there is a wait on the food. Be patient; they are busy & everyone communicates so well in the kitchen. The atmosphere is calming & cultural. Now the food- man listen… my blackened salmon was not the “usual” blackened salmon; you taste all the herbs, the rosemary & more- put a hint of lemon juice too.. the flavor is slammin’. I loved the greens & the yams melt in your mouth; now as for the rice , you can legitimately taste the light hint of coconut. I loved it all. Now the Jerk Chicken- flavorful & juicy. This food is made with love from amongst those in the kitchen to spreading the love to all. I will be back to try the Sorrell & Ginger Ice Tea- it was out but I’m truly not surprised after trying their food....

First let me say I never like to write a bad review and I had previously wrote a review months ago complimenting this restaurant because they really do have good food. I have to say though in my opinion it’s very unprofessional how they operate. On Google the hours say 1230 to 8. You come on here and the business says open, you go there and they are closed. Not everyone has social media where they can see when you are not open (which is quite often!) that means people travel from all over to support your establishment and give you business just for you not to be open when google says you are. Please care about your customers, their time and gas, and keep your times updated on here, so we’re not wasting our time and money in gas passing places that do care and appreciate...
