Tu Rinconcito — Restaurant in Philadelphia

I went here with my boss for a snack and normally I would not post a review after “just a snack,” but here’s the thing, or three things:

1. This little corner gem of a Mexican restaurant serves my favorite horchata out of all of the many horchatas I’ve tried. Smooth, sweet but not too sweet, and so creamy dreamy. Might need another mañana.
2. Possibly the best quesadilla I’ve had in the whole city. The handmade pillowy tortilla was fried to golden perfection and stuffed with Oaxaca (my preferred quesadilla cheese) and flavorful tinga, and topped with lettuce, crema, and cotija. The chipotle salsa paired perfectly.
3. Such lovely girls running this new spot. So warm, friendly, and kind.

I can already tell the food is made with love after a snack, so I’m excited for my first full meal! My boss is from Mexico and is tough to please, but he said the quesadilla reminded him of his mother’s! I predict that the Insta influencers will find Tu Rinconcito soon and blow...

I love having a real Mexican restaurant in Old City , walking distance from my apartment . As a Mexican myself I can tell you all that this is authentic Mexican food. I been here 3 times and all 3 times I always get exceptional service from the ladies that always attend you with a smile . The best part is that they make the tortillas there by hand which are always so delicious. Also the horchata is the best horchata I have had here in Philly. This last time I ordered to go and once again they didn’t disappoint. The steak tacos are so delicious and the salsas remind me of how my grandmother makes them back home. My new favorite restaurant! We live in the neighborhood, and this has become one of our favorite new additions on the block! Everything we've ordered has been exceptional. I got the breakfast burrito for the first time yesterday, and it was unreal. Everyone is always super friendly, hospitable and accommodating. And don't miss their lattes!
