Since the start of the pandemic this place has been a haven for caffeine, consistency and good service. Many of the baristas and manager know me and my order. They have these cards that allow you to gather rewards. Each time you come you get a stamp - eventually you get 9 then a free cup of coffee I have so many of the cards some with 5 stamps some with 6 or 7. Lately, I've been bad at collecting the stamps but after going there almost every day I figure I get cut slack with my multiple cards. The other day I had two cards and I had been by the last couple of days hoping the barista would remember me so I can redeem a free cup of coffee. I get paid monthly so as I get to the end of the month things get chippy. I explained the situation to the Barista - who is relatively new - and she found it necessary to remind me she gives me extra coffee everyday. In that moment I was kinda shocked. 4 years damn near everyday I bought coffee at least here and when I try to redeem a free cup of coffee I'm guilt tripped? This barista is new so I suppose this is one of those it is what it is but that has placed a sour taste in my mouth. It was good while it lasted but all good things come to an end. At the very least that new barista needs some training around customer service as a whole.

Thanks for...

I hardly ever leave reviews or complain but after my 3rd visit to this place, it’s official. THIS PLACE IS NOT BLACK/POC FRIENDLY! I live in the area. I visited the first time and noticed how friendly and welcoming they were to non-POC folks compared to the silence I received when I walked in but let it slide. The 2nd time I noticed non-POC folk had reward cards that were being hole punched. I wasn’t offered one the first or second time. Thought maybe it was a promo I missed. Today, I saw the cashier hand a card to & stamp it for the non-PoC woman who ordered before me, yet she offered me nothing but silence. I regret ever spending money in this place and I’ll never return again. Black and POC folks, STAY FAR AWAY! You won’t receive quality service and they’ll treat you like your money doesn’t...

This place is the epitome of hospitality. The owner generally aims to go above and beyond and it shows in all the little touches, like cucumber, lemon infused water that you can pour yourself. He always checks in when you dine there to make sure you are enjoying everything. If something is taking what he feels is too long to come out, he lets you know and apologizes before you even realize. There is a dining are downstairs that is really well decorated and the perfect place to sit and catch up with friends. I can honestly say in terms of just hospitality this is the best place I have been to in the whole city. The crepes are very good, my Ukrainian friends think they taste like the homemade ones they're used to from their grandmothers. This place is much needed and well situated within the...

Really good food and decent coffee! Came here to explore different cafes and ended up here. There isn’t much in the immediate neighborhood but you can easily walk to the fairmount area. There is seating downstairs and seems pretty good for studying or doing work. I prefer to study by the bar but it does get quite loud with all the customers ordering and the espresso machine but I like being at the windows. The food was really good. I got the Philly sandwich which is lox and cream cheese and spinach on toast. Super delicious honestly. The coffee was meh. They have only a select few of syrups and the vanilla flavor wasn’t great. The staff were pleasant. They do get busy but they do their best to be attentive. Price: around $8-10 for a sandwich

Came here slightly before 9am an October Saturday for breakfast. It's a small cute shop with only window counter seating inside, probably 8 spots, and a couple tables outside. Clean, bright. There were 2 guests besides me, but shortly after 9am there was a moderate crowd, mostly take-out given the real estate. Avocado toast was alright, probably 3 to 3.5 ⭐. It was fairly simple, which was to be expected for the price and establishment. I asked for extra eggs but they didn't serve eggs, unfortunately. The banana chocolate peanut butter smoothie, as well as the latte, were good, probably closer to 4 ⭐ Overall a reasonable in-and-out kind of spot for coffee and simple bites.

Last time coming here burnt bagel barely any cream cheese. My matcha (which was watery) which I ended up leaving there because the lack of flavor so I said instead of bothering them let me just make it sweet, they wanted to charge me for a shot of vanilla, when they didn’t have any liquid sugar/simple syrup as the lady tried pass off agave or honey off as simple syrup I’ve never seen brown simple syrup. The only thing that was correct was the small coffee and thats because I had to put the sugar and cream in myself which is fine. The lady was just rude which this is a first for me because she has been sweet everytime I’ve been there but $15 for is ridiculous.
