City Center Downtown Motel — Hotel in Phoenix

I came in one day trying to find a hotel room for me and my girl I asked the guy if there's any rooms available and there were rooms I had 78. 38 on my checking account I was going to purchase the room off of booking because everything is cheaper that way when I told the manager I was going to do that he immediately said no don't do that because they only get 20% then he proceeded to try to make a deal with me with a little bit of money I had which was a red flag. And then I asked him if I bring somebody else over is it okay he immediately said no only you and I'm thinking what type of hotel doesn't let to adults stay in one room if they bring ID. And then when I was going to leave he stopped me and said is this person from the streets very disrespectful because it should not matter if we are from the streets we were trying to pay a service and that's the service I was given so I told them I will be back but I didn't come back these people are disrespectful the only nice guy was the older white guy sitting behind the counter but the Foreigner manager very disrespectful trying to make deals with little bit of money you have telling you not to pay on a booking app because they want the money I do not recommend this place at all if you are homeless they will judge you because you are quote on quote from the streets it made me so upset I had to just walk out and leave because I was going to possibly get into combat with the manager for disrespecting...

DO NOT STAY HERE!! I booked a stay at this motel for a conference based on the proximity to the convention center and the price. The first red flag should have been the fact that when I arrived payment was taken through a small window rather than allowing me into the "lobby" perhaps for the clerk's safety.

To their credit the motel was quiet but when I entered the room I was horrified. There were stains on the bed, urine on the toilet seat and the socket was falling out of the wall which is an obvious electrical hazard. Additionally, there was no ironing board in the room despite what was listed in the amenities. I immediately went back to the front desk/window and told the clerk I would be checking out in the morning despite booking for 4 days so I would like a refund. I was told he didn't know how to do it so I would be refunded the following day when I checked out.

To add insult to injury after receiving my receipt for a refund the credit was never applied to my bank statement. I contacted the manager of the motel who said he would "look into it" but he has since stopped responding. I have since been forced to dispute the transaction with the bank and this has been more than a month of unnecessary headache for the crime of staying at this scam of a motel.

If you care about yourself, stay far...

Please think twice before staying here!!!

I really wanted to love this place after reading so many great reviews calling it a "hidden gem" with great customer service. Unfortunately, my experience was very different!

From the moment I walked in, the room had an disgusting smell—like smoke mixed with something else. The carpets were extremely stained, and the bed sheets had stains, too. The bed felt it had been used for years. The bathroom wasn’t much better; the toilet didn’t flush properly, the toilet seat was somethingelse, and the shower curtain had mold. I even noticed exposed electrical wiring, which didn’t feel safe.

The biggest issue? They kept my deposit. I’ve called multiple times to resolve it, but each time, I get a different excuse. The last time I called, the person I spoke to wouldn’t even give me her name, so rude, and she hung up the phone.

I’m sharing my honest experience so others can be aware. If I would have known the condition of this place-I wouldn’t have. I really hope they make improvements, especially starting with the staff, expect for Mike,—but for now, I can’t...
