Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Phoenix

My friend and I were extremely surprised (and pleased) that there was no waiting and were seated right away for a Saturday evening. We were greeted by our waitress, Amy (I believe) and she took our drink orders (both unsweetened iced tea). It did seem as if we waited all longer than expected for our iced teas. However, I remember back in Massachusetts (born and bred) that any beverages need to be drawn by the bartender. Wait staff could not even fill a soft drink order. If that is the procedure here, we were very disappointed as there was only 1 patron at the bar and the rest of the restaurant was maybe no more than 1/3 full.

We decided on the "2 for $34" option of the mozzarella sticks appetizer and we both ordered the "four cheese mac & cheese with honey pepper chicken". The mozzarella sticks came out in a decent time period. However, it did seem that our entrees were taking a little longer than usual. When our plates arrived, neither of us were given the bread stick. We had to ask Amy to make sure the kitchen forgot. The manager on duty did come by to apologize for the oversight and assured us they would be right out (which they were).

Upon looking at the "mac & cheese", there was barely any cheese sauce (what seemed like 2 tablespoons worth) and the pasta was not drained thoroughly. There was more water than cheese sauce. Unfortunately my friend and I are diabetic and we needed to eat something. We did not bring up our disappointment in the entrees to Amy. We both ate the chicken and about half of the pasta and asked for to-go boxes for the rest.

The price of the meal came to about $40. Unfortunately the food we received was not worth the price - this time. I will chalk this up to the kitchen having a tough evening. We have always had good meals at Applebee's. The "2 for" deal is a good offering and we will not be discouraged from coming back again on the deal aspect. Not sure if the location will be re-visted by us again...

Worst family dining experience. The wait to be seated was over 40 minutes. Once called up we see half the restaurant is empty open seats and tables available. Waitress took our drink order which took 20 minutes to get to us. When she returned to take our food order I asked if they can lower thee music a bit, They were bumping Spanish club music so loud I got a migraine. Sont get me wrong I love spanish music, but if that's what I was going for I'd go to the marisco place.The music was changed, however not lowered but it was chaged to English club music. The staff went missing for a good 10 minutes no one around, just a bartender. When they came out from the back one staff yelled out to another "girl this is your song". Like they are having too much fun at the job. How about have fun and serve us. Sorry for inconvenience you with our business.moving on: I get my appetizer, no utensils took 10+ minutes to flag server to provide me with utensils. I ordered chicken with shrimp skillet and I took 1 bite, the chicken was more fishy than the shrimp, I could not muster the courage to dare take another bite. When I looked at the skillet it had layers over layers or grease 🤮.I picked at it and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever experienced while dining. Long story short don't come here to dine, unless you are looking for a cheap alternative to drink and listen to loud music and avoid a cover charge at the club then this...

We went to dinner for father's day and when we got there it was not too busy. We were a party of 11, so we understood why the food took a little longer to come out. However, once it did the experience took a downhill turn. My plate specifically had a hair in it, so I returned it. My mom ordered a plate that came with burned hard chicken. They made it again and it was the same. My dad ordered his without onions, and it had onions. My brother ordered his burger without onions, and it had onions. It took the server an extremely long time to return to us after everything that was wrong was explained to her. The manager took about 20 mins to finally come to our table. He did give us a discount, but in my opinion it was very minimal compared to all the mishaps and the long waits. After he left the server took another 20 mins or more to bring the checks ( and I had to finally find her to ask for them). The checks were all mixed up and wrong. She left to "fix them" and again never came back. I had to find the manager and he went ahead and checked us out, again with minimal discount. The server came up to us and heard me complaining about the wait times, and tried to argue with me. It was the WORST experience I have ever had at a restaurant.
