Tortas El Tri — Restaurant in Phoenix

I visited this place with 12 other persons and we all had mixed reviews some 'liked it'-3, some it was 'ok'-4 and the rest of us 'didn't not like it'...at all. I usually give a place a second chance but not this place because aside from the food not-so good the place needs a good cleaning under the tables were we were eating there was alot of crumbs and food particles, the windows and main entrance were very dirty with children's greasy hands. I understand these things can happen when you are very busy or short staffed. We were there about 2.5 hours and the place only had a handful of persons.( I counted only 6) Even the waitress we got was very very slow, unfriendly, she didn't even introduce herself, very unprofessional. We were missing napkins since the our table napkin dispenser was out and other things she forgot about our order so we had to waved her down several times to ask for and she would come over to our table with a ' what do you want' attitude. I normally don't like to comment but this is just unacceptable. Been coming here for while. I always understand every situation. From having to wait long for my food even if the place is empty they will make to go orders first and not the ones there sitting ready to eat. Anyways it's always something. But this is just unacceptable I always leave a tip but yesterday I did have a bad experience with the waitress took the order, brought it to our table asked if it's all good and never did she come back to ask if everything was going good , no refills we had to get up ourselves and get our drinks , never got our bill so just approached to pay was upset and wasn't leaving a tip. What was my surprise when I got home they had charged me a 15% tip . That is just not right especially if the order was just for 2 adults and 3 kids . I would understand when paycheck depend on tips but this is not the case. Sure not going there again and to think I would drive all the way from El Mirage this will not be...

This was one of the worst places i ever ate at! From the jump the place smelled like wet dirty rag like they just cleaned the place with one of their dirtiest rags they can have. Services was terrible the server kept leaving outside to talk to whoever he was, our food was sitting there for a minute waiting for it to be served. The food was the worst of it all, salsa and chips where nasty, salsa was very watery and the food we had were the chilaquiles and the salsa for that had no flavor, the cheese looked so weird and the frijoles just had no flavor at all. My husband had the torta de res and that one wasn't as bad nothing special about it but even then everything was so flat! And the chips they came with were from a bag of lay chips! Our drinks weren't even cold my coke bottle was at room temp and was warm by the time i finished it. Overall it was just a bad service and don't recommend...
