Amazingly tasty pizza with super friendly staff! Great find! We’ve enjoyed pizza all over the world over 35+ yrs, Clyde’s Corner is among THE BEST!!! Gotta love the sourdough crust and the unusual offer of dipping sauce for your crust edge “bones”! Initial reaction was what, why, ugh weird but WTH let’s try it…and chimichurri dip is the tastiest addon to finishing off the delicious outer pizza crust! So good! You order at counter then grab a table. On a Saturday nt, waiting in line to order we were asked by staff about seating preferences and had a bar table set aside for us and ready to sit after ordering, suhweet! My wife had the Seasonal Veggie w/ smoked jalapeno pesto, which set it way above any other vegetarian pizza she’s had. They smoke the jalapenos there, fresh and delicious! I went with the Seasonal Sausage with pepperoni added - no surprise, it was wicked tasty. Rotating draft brews were a nice variety. I enjoyed the Sea’ N Red irish style red ale by Pelican Brewing, so smooth. My wife was surprised how good the Florida Seltzer (hard), prickly pear guava flavor was, with nearly complete natural ingredients (not the sugar, high fructose corn syrup crap addins). Also learned for their cocktails drinks they infuse some of the alcohol on site, creative and tasty. Asked about Clyde the namesake doggie and learned he’s the owners 17+ yr old lab, how cool! His adorable mug is on the signage, glasses and merchandise. Clyde’s “mom” / owner checked in on us and she was so very helpful w/ getting us a 2nd round of drinks - we had closed our tab when ordering at counter but best if you leave tab open when ordering, as you then can easily order additional drinks, items etc from your table. A nice chat with her, too, about their business and surviving thru covid and the 2020 fires. Greg our waiter was also super friendly and helpful, service with a great touch of humor! And he offered great insight on the area, as we are considering fleeing AZ heat for Oregon. Overall an amazing place to share drinks and awesome food with friends! Highly recommend this wonderful establishment - a great local story of succeeding thru an opening around covid and the horrible fires of 2020. There is nothing like supporting...
Read moreI saw a friends FB post from 5-12-23, so we decided to drive from Central Point to Phoenix on Saturday 5-13-23. 7pm. Be sure to enter in front doors and get in line to order and pay for your items first- then you are seated wherever you’d like… A lot of the outside tables were leaving. There are seats inside, a waiting area, and tables outside along front window wall AND a separate TAKE OUT AREA too. First time here. Sausage wood fired pizza ($19), roasted potatoes ($9.00), green salad ($11.50), Caesar salad ($10.00) and Hibiscus Lemonade ($4.25). Water is in large glass bottle and stainless steel cups. Great (AWESOME) atmosphere here. Mixture of 60-80’s 40-50’s and lots of 20 something’s age groups ! Dog friendly outside (decomposed granite covered ground at umbrella tables) clean concrete walkway out front with tables along the covered storefront (out of the weather-sun/rain). The salads were fresh/cool (no tomatoes in season yet- will go back for salads with tomatoes) excellent amount of dressing not too much to drown and no need to ask for additional. Roasted potatoes had a dipping sauce and were so close to the PERFECT roasting (crispy outside-soft inside and NO BURNT TONGUE) after salads were eaten the pizza arrived (perfect timing !!) awesome flavor and crust was AMAZING!! Excellent date nite, we will be coming back again. Staff ALL HUSTLED bringing food/drinks , packing chairs/tables , seating folks… one of my top Ten local best places to...
Read moreSecond visit to Clyde's this evening. As before, the service was great and the pizza was fantastic! Only a couple complaints. We decided to bring our dog along for this outing, and we chose an outdoor table. I stayed out with the pooch while my girlfriend went in to order. She was nicely advised at this point that we were not to have seated ourselves, but must register and wait for the host to seat us. Okay, standard indoor dining protocol. There is a sign when you walk inside stating this, but nothing of the kind as you enter the picnic area, where most seem to be seated. That would have been helpful. The second thing was the incessant rap "music" blaring from the indoor and outdoor speakers the whole time we were there (about1.5 hours total). The previous visit was accompanied by a nice mix of lite and classic rock. Now, as a musician, I realize others might not find the rap genre to be as non-musical and utterly offensive and annoying as me, but come on. If you must play music, why not make it at least a mix -- a little something for everyone. I could be way wrong, but I can't imagine the lovely grannies I saw dining outside really appreciated it either. After dinner, we walked the dog a short way along the greenway, and upon our return, I could hear the beats pumping at least 300 yards away. There's a reason I don't go to bars and dance clubs. It's a shame such a nice dining experience was ruined...
