This is a very cute little spot somewhat hidden away. I appreciated the attention to detail with the decor - like the outlets are covered in the same wallpaper that was used on the top half of the walls.
The food overall was killer. I don’t personally think focaccia is the right bread for most sandwiches so I personally would modify that a bit but that aside, honestly I was pretty dang impressed. All the flavor was there, the look was there, and I enjoyed myself. The cocktail I had was also incredible. I don’t frequently try new cocktails just because I don’t often like alcohol and I don’t want to waste $10+ on a drink I don’t like, but I could’ve downed several of the Mai Favorite Season I think it was called?? AMAZING.
I was slightly put off by a couple mostly minor things: when I walked in there was no real direction on seating or ordering, no menus clearly visible, and the staff were both not behind the counter and/or clearly differentiated from customers so we just walked in and awkwardly stood around, finally grabbing a table and looking the menu up on our phones. Felt a little like we were intruding on someone else’s event or coming in before they were open more than it seemed like we were walking into an open establishment. the menu gives the option of ordering 2 half sized things off the list but it’s apparently not 2 of the same (like 2 different soups). It felt like we were inconveniencing them by ordering this way, despite the fact that the cook would’ve had to cook the exact same foods in the exact same portion sizes if we had each ordered half of each others choice instead. Seems silly and a little misleading. lastly were the gnats/fruit flies. There were SO many swarming around us while we tried to eat. I recognize the doors/windows were open but these weren’t even regular flies like when you eat outside, they were legit gnats/fruit flies which just felt unhygienic and a little gross.
Overall, I actually really like this place and the food/drinks were great. It does strike me as more of a drinks and apps place than an entree place though, unfortunately. I will probably return again just for the drinks if nothing...
Read moreHad the blessing of stopping by here one evening with my wife while we were craving cider. We thought this would be a healthier alternative. We did 2 flights of tastings and found a couple we loved so much that we bought growlers and took them home. This place has a lot to offer though they just opened. They serve food, mixed drinks, mocktails, beer, kombucha, and specialty made cold brew coffee. Moxie Brew is a bar, so no minors. The kombucha they offer is all made in house. I was fortunate enough to talk to one of the owners about how to essentially "re-fizz" the kombucha so it's not always flat. She said to set it out for about an hour before putting it back in the...
Read moreThis spot is so quaint with a variety of options including (N/A) kombucha, beer, cocktails, and mocktails. Our party tried a kombucha and every cocktail between the three of us and they were ALL delicious! Because they had the ingredients they also made a specialized cocktail as well. We also had the Moxie board (a charcuterie board) which was also delicious that included some of the local cheese that is found along the strip of businesses nearby. Lastly, beautiful views and outdoor seating. Live music was also starting while we were there. A very, very special spot in Phoenix with a wonderful origin story if you talk with the...
