Good morning, I'm sitting here at the Ahwatukee First Watch enjoying a breakfast as was suggested bythe manager Hector and was cooked by their chef Sam in the back with her crew. This was delivered bt the hands of Mr Jose who not only he, but all of its employees are just full of so much kindness, energy and positivity. When I first walked into the restaurant a week ago to apply for the position of Cook I was delighted to see the humongous windows which allowed in so much light from the outside. This coupled with the he high ceilings and clean ductwork just took me back to a timecame where old fashioned Warehouse districts back East taught me most of my culinary training. sitting here on the front porch is very airy and open there's trees in a nice breeze blowing outside I was blessed with the breakfast filled with hash browns to me home fries and a sweet ham the running is and lovely is over easy egg that I've had in a long time the jam it looks like it's freshly made its sweet and wonderful on the toes which looks like a very high green wheat toast with a good slab of butter for my chunky belly I chased that down with a couple of lemon water and a wonderfully Rich cup of black coffee which made my day fact that they have real ketchup and Cholula hot sauce original it just brought it all together nicely solve anybody is down here and Ahwatukee Arizona please stop by to see the folks at the first watch they serve breakfast 7 days a week a great atmosphere a new crew trying to bring themselves to the light of Ahwatukee and did I mention that plenty of seating to include the first ever coffee bar with a run through window through the outside temperature come check it out you guys will have a great time tell them old...
Read moreUnfortunately had a horrible experience at the new Ahwatukee First Watch. I know people say 'They've just opened, they're working out the kinks." But, what we experienced was unacceptable. It was 11am on a Wednesday and the restaurant was not even half full. We were greeted with a smile by the host and sat right away. From there it went downhill quickly. We sat at our table for over 10 minutes and a server never came over. Worst part of it was, we sat and watched three managers stand laughing and chatting in front of the specials board, never once scanning the room to see if any servers or customers needed help. After 15 minutes of no one coming to our table my husband got up and walked back to the host and asked to speak to a manager. The manager came over and took our order and did tell us our meal would be no charge. While we appreciate the gesture, we would have rather had better service, or seen management supporting servers in need of assistance.
Our food started coming before we had drinks and had to ask a second time for water.
The billion dollar bacon was limp and lukewarm. The bread for the BLT was not toasted.
After we finished, a server we had never seen before came up and gave us our $77 bill. He said we would need to ask up at the host stand about getting it adjusted.
As we walked through the restaurant to leave, again saw at least three groups of employees standing around chatting with each other.
First Watch is a corporate restaurant and should have higher standards of service. Don't spend your money being ignored here. Over Easy, Snooze, Brunch Snob, and Biscuits Foothills have all opened in Ahwatukee in recent years and have done it better than...
Read moreThe service was basically nonexistent. There were so many waiting but our server became the bar tender and I had to go to the bar and wait like others to get the bill. We couldn’t release our booth because there was no one to give us the bill. When I paid O told the front desk lady we would have left 20 minutes ago but no one would bring bill. Dishes had been stacked by us. The lady laughed and said that happens on the weekend. Typical franchise. Workers don’t care. They forgot one of our orders and there was no one to flag down. We waited patiently for someone. The others were done eating by the time we got our missing order. A pancake. The servers seemed to be always prepping food back by the kitchen as there was absolutely no one on the floor most of the time. I didn’t feel safe even. Trapped. If they don’t hire more people for the weekends there will be too much stress there to enjoy the food. We ran out of water and asked a couple times. It’s over 110 here. Again there wasn’t servers or bus boys walking around. I’ve done a lot of dining all over and have NEVER seen such bad service for expensive food and drinks. Too bad. We were excited to support our local new restaurant. We won’t go again ever....
