We stopped by LA Crab Shack in Ahwatukee and noticed it wasn’t very busy when we arrived. At first, it wasn’t totally clear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait, but eventually someone came over to greet us.
Our server—Ashton, I believe—was great. Super friendly, volunteered to bring out seasoning samples without us asking, answered all of our questions, and didn’t try to oversell anything. Just genuinely helpful and made the experience easy.
We ordered the snow crab special and added shrimp, corn, potatoes, and sausage. We chose the Cajun Dizzle seasoning at medium spice—it had a nice kick, especially on the food itself. For me, it got a little too spicy once everything was soaking in the sauce, but my husband loved it (he likes it hot enough to break a sweat and clear his sinuses!).
I also tried the gumbo and it was delicious. I added a bit of Louisiana hot sauce, but that’s how it should be—totally flavorful and satisfying.
Fair warning: it is very cold inside. Great once you’re elbows-deep in seafood, but definitely chilly before and after the meal. Highly recommend bringing a jacket, blanket, or wearing winter clothes—seriously.

Read moreI haven't had this good of king crab in a very long time. I can only find king crab really when I go to Washington State. But this place beats any king crab I have had before! And I'm not lying I'm a picky eater and a judgment eater when it comes to king crab. If you're looking for a good sauce I would recommend the California blend. Also I want to give an acknowledgment to Alexandra! Her service was phenomenal she really went out of her way and went the extra mile to let me try all the sauces and took the time to explain everything on the menu that I had questions about. She is a keeper!!You guys keep doing what you're doing and props to the chef!! You all really know what you're doing in that kitchen! I will definitely be back and bringing...
Read moreGreat food and amazing prices! Look for the specials always are the best! They have a lunch special as well. I would prefer the catfish to have more flavor or seasoning but, it was still okay. We tried the garlic bread expecting nicely toasted buttery garlic bread it is a NO GO. It's bread soaked in butter and soggy with no taste. So disappointed. I asked the server to let the manager know she said she did and that was that so never ordering that again for $4.99 it is not worth it! Angry grab has bread for soppin that is amazing and it's only $2 !!! So, just stay away from the garlic bread. I have been here about 5+ times and that was my only disappointment. Oh and the women restroom stall is super tiny like really tiny use the...
