Food was the best Mexican food I have had in a LONG time. There is nothing that compares to the quality, authenticity and price of the food around here. The service and the food both let you know why its called "Five Star" Grill. They are always friendly, and the food is prepared fresh but also fast. They have an amazing variety, so there is absolutely something for everyone to enjoy. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 adult/teen boys) got a TON of food with lots of variety, and we spend $24. The only thing we regretted after eating , was not getting MORE FOOD! We immediately became obsessed and have eaten here 4 times in 2 weeks. We are all looking forward to a special dinner tonight and we know just the place! I recommend the street tacos, rice and beans. I had barbacoa, carnitas, chicken and steak. All of them were flavorful and seasoned to perfection. the meat was very juicy. The corn tortillas were fresh and soft (but not falling apart, and they give you 2 tortillas per taco). The beans and rice were SOOOO totally yummy, we could have had that by itself. I can only compare the taste to tacos from a company from Tijuana that used to be on the Las Vegas strip or food I had in San Diego. The parking lot stays full for a reason here! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. With such limited food options (and very few consistent/quality options) in this part of town you need to eat at Five Star Mexican Taco Grill TODAY! Tell a friend. Get a To-Go menu. On a budget? They have super affordable daily specials that have a great value. Seriously thank you for coming to this side of town (because we were literally starving to...
Read moreOrdered food from here for myself and three other people, dining in. We were really hungry as well so anything and everything should have tasted great for us. The original place we wanted to go was closed, so this was a second choice. Unfortunately, we were severely disappointed in this place. Food: All of use agreed the food was just bad. I've had the same items that tasted better. However, we felt that the chicken was dry and the shrimp was chewy. Everything was also super salty. Service: This was the big thing for me. The cashier was just focused on the television in front of her and never made eye contact even while speaking to us directly. She got our order wrong. Asked for normal tacos, got street tacos. Asked for whole beans, got refried beans. We kept having to go up and ask for missing items or getting our order fixed. There was also no information about the salsa bar provided to us, even though it was our first time there. I happened to see some small cups, so I went to check it out and realized there was a salsa bar. Atmosphere: The place is dressed up like a typical Mexican restaurant. Very colorful walls, colorful plates. However, all tables were uncleaned. The table we sat at had grains of rice on the table, floor and there was a musty smell that we only noticed after we had ordered. The smell was like they had been cleaning using old dirty water.
There’s no option for zero rating so I gave it one star rating. Definitely not going...
Read moreA year ago I ate at this place, the food was sort of mediocre. Ambience was good. For the last couple of months I’ve gone there three different times without being able to get in or order. I love menudo, so I wanted to try theirs, but they only serve it on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The first time I went they were closed on the Saturday due to “inventory“. Who does that on a weekend?? The second time I went back was on a Sunday. The door hours say “open at 9 AM”. I was there at 10 AM and no one was there. Why post your hours if you’re not going to be there??? The third time I went in, was on a Sunday to get menudo. I was there when they opened (not the door open sign of 9 am) but purposely came at 10 AM to make sure they were open and they had NO Menudo . They told me “all the landscapers bought it up”. The cashier/hostess was flippant about my statement “ this is the third time I’ve been here for Menudo!!!”. She could have cared less. So if you’ve been open for over a year why haven’t you figured out the amount of menudo you need??? Without a doubt, this is the poorest run restaurant I’ve ever encountered and I will NEVER go back …….and you know what they say about dissatisfied customers, for every one person dissatisfied 10 more will know about it. I think I’ve already...
