This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. When I sat down at the bar I wasn't greeted. Instead a menu was tossed at me like a frisbee while the bartender was talking to another guest.
The menu was covered in coffee splatters and the bar was sticky and dirty. After looking at the menu for a while, I was approached by another bartender who asked to take my order. When I asked her about the grilled chicken sandwich, she told me they were only serving breakfast and appetizers. That would have been good information to have initially.
I settled on a breakfast meal which arrived in about 5 minutes. I sat for another 2 minutes without silverware before having to flag someone down for a roll up. The food was lukewarm and I got what appeared to be half of a scrambled egg with a side of potatoes that oozed with grease when I tried to stab it with my fork.
I rarely send food back but this was not edible in my opinion. When I told the bartender that I couldn't eat it she simply asked if I wanted something else and when I said that I didn't think so she turned away without a word and looked as thought I put her out. No apologies.
I'm in the service industry and I will excuse quite a bit of mishaps and mistakes especially when it's busy or if something happens in the kitchen and it's not necessarily the fault of the bartender or server but these bartenders had absolutely no consideration for providing good service.
I will not be back here next time I'm in the airport and if the manager of this establishment has any concern for his representation of the Four Peaks Brewery brand, the staff needs serious coaching or replacement.
No guest of any establishment should feel put out for just wanting a good meal and...
Read moreThe beer that I had was great. The service that I received was not. This review is regarding Jenna H, who was rude, completely dismissive, and made me feel unwelcome at the Four Peaks bar.
I visited Four Peaks at Phoenix airport, as a first time guest, on 11/9 at 1:47pm. I sat at bar 19 (check 4238). From the moment I sat down, Jenna made me feel uncomfortable. Her demeanor was cold and the initial amount of side eye that she gave me was unnecessary . She passive aggressively tossed a menu in front of me and walked away. A few moments later she came back to take my drink order. In a tone that suggested that she was annoyed, she asked "any food?" and I declined.
When I pulled out my card to try and pay her, she quickly threw her finger up in the air and smirked at me, which suggested that she took pleasure in exercising control over my transaction. . Then she took another guest order, printed my receipt, and walked away again. At this point, I was frustrated. I work in Food & Beverage full time as a GM, and have a strong working knowledge of steps of service, timing, and signs of service staff being overwhelmed or distressed ("weeded"). This was not the case. This was an exchange that was petty and unprofessional, and subsequently led to this review. My professional advice to Jenna is to treat all of your guests with the same respect as the two gentlemen that were sitting on either side of me. I watched you smile and be friendly/ professional with both of them. For some reason, though, I was not afforded the same experience. I can only speculate the reason why, but hopefully no one else has to tolerate such poor service from her...
Read moreI don’t ever write bad reviews, but it’s sad that I need to for one of my favorite restaurants as an AZ local. I was sat at a high top and after waiting for a while I got no service. After all, this is the airport and quick service is key! So, I decided to move to the bar since no one was in line and there was an open spot. The bar tender was instantly rude about my decision and said I have to go wait in line or I need to stay in that section. I told him no one came to me and he still told me that I needed to get back in line and was quite dismissive of me. I was already in the restaurant and my move opened up seating for more people anyways. After arguing he said fine then the host walked past me and muddled something under his breath about rules behind my back.
At this point, I felt ganged up on and I knew at this point I wasn’t going to receive good service. I told him “I don’t feel comfortable here and I am leaving” I never do this and I fly all the time. This was possibly the worst experience I have ever had and the way they made me feel embarrassed and insulted in front of the surrounding patrons. I frequent Four Peaks in Tempe very often and I love them for their fantastic customer service and great food, but the airport one is just full of rude employees who don’t value the customer or the restaurants reputation. I took my money elsewhere and I suggest you do the same. This is NOT a good representation of the Four Peaks in Tempe, in fact, I am going to inform them of the poor service that is hurting...
