I’ve never left a review with one star, but the food and service at this Pei Wei reflected just that. I ordered kung pao chicken with white rice. The best part of my meal was the soda I ordered. After taking two bites of my meal and tasking only the overwhelming mouthful of sodium. I went poking through it looking for some kind of pepper or spice that might provide some kind of flavor. With there being absolutely no spice to my meal I took it back and explained that I was expecting it to be spicy but Everything seems to be drenched in soy sauce. They offered me a cup of what looked like Sriracha sauce, but I told them I didn’t feel like that would help the situation, I asked if they would remake it and as I stood there I heard the story of what was wrong with my meal and what they could do to fix it as it was passed on from the cashier, to the expo, to the chef. Which the chef rolls his eyes and yells from the back of the kitchen at me saying that if I need it spicier that he could just heat up more of the Kung pao sauce that I could then put on my meal. I felt as though I had been pushed back to square one and really wasn’t ready to start this debate from across the kitchen again. He clearly didn’t believe that my food was too salty from his expression when the message was passed on to him. I took his offer on the kung pao sauce, after 5 minutes I was sitting back down with my food and my magic sauce which the chef felt would fix my meal. I poured it on and after a couple bites promptly threw it away. I love Pei Wei, this location just doesn’t offer the same service or food quality that the rest of Pei...
Read moreStopped in waiting for a flight. The food itself was surprisingly solid for a airport chain. The firecracker chicken was crunchy and gristle free, not over fried. The white rice was not dry or soggy, just regular ol' decent white rice. The bourbon chicken portion was meager, but what was there was well cooked, not dry, and it did not just taste like Chinese food sweet brown sauce #46, had a little smoky sweet like bourbon glazed at big chains. If you're in the airport and don't want to go down the entire other wing to an overcrowded Panda Express it will satisfy your mid Chinese craving, maybe even slightly upper-mid.
Pro: nice staff made sure one order was rice free when the kiosk didn't allow it.
Cons: fried rice out of stock, several soda flavors out of stock, counters pretty dirty which I usually don't mind much, but had to...
Read moreI have never tried Pei Wei in my city. I thought to try it when I'm traveling. Oh. My. Gawd. I should had read some reviews before eating here.
The menu on monitors was so hard to read. It was tiny and kept changing. Then, I found paper menu with pictures on the counter. I saw chicken lettuce wrap was the way I wanted. It should be light and quick because my flight was about to leave.
I waited over 10 minutes to find out they were not assembled like the photos. Lettuce was fresh but dripping with water. The meat mixture was SO SALTY and SO SWEET at the same time. I trying to eat it like taco. But it went all over if table and my shorts.
I also ordered Thai Wonton Soup. It was served in a take out container, like a leftover. There was no Thai. Just tiny dumplings in water with some spinach.
Sorry. Pei Wei....
