"Are you kidding me?" Those were my first words after the food was delivered - and they were not words of happy surprise, but of huge disappointment. If you want a short review, here you are: go someplace else. Otherwise, read on for why they received such a low rating. My sister was craving BBQ so we stopped in to Frasher's last night, around 4:30. They have a large outdoor patio, live music until 5:00. There was another portion of the patio on the front, well shaded, where the music was not as loud. It is a large place w/ ample parking. While placing our order the first thing I noticed was there were no ingredients / toppings listed for their sandwiches. Stupidly, I didn't ask; I assumed it would be the typical fixins. B-I-G mistake. We initially sat inside but it was such a beautiful day we moved to the front patio. No one was there; they were all on the side enjoying the music. The sweet tea was good. Unfortunately, that is where the "good" stopped. Our plastic plates & plastic silverware were delivered to our table, with three small plastic containers of different BBQ sauces. If you look at the pictures, you'll see my sandwich (and I use that term loosely!!) was nothing but slabs of turkey tossed between a sesame bun. BORING! and dry. The baked beans were bad, lukewarm with what I guess were onions & peppers. Lukewarm. Same with the fried ravioli appetizer. I would bet money they came out of a box, into the microwave, onto the plate. My sister got the tri trip & pulled pork platter w/ garlic mashed potatoes and mac 'n cheese. Potatoes were barely warm, everything else was stone cold. She took two bites. At this point her words were "I left too large of a tip". I didn't even touch my sandwich. She went back in to see if we had missed a buffet where sandwich fixins would have been. We didn't. When the server came back out, I asked him where the rest of the sandwich was, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, etc. He said there weren't any. I had to ask for it. By the time he brought out a plate of lettuce, two tomato slices, and a few pickles, we were both so annoyed we packed up the food and walked out - and walked across the driveway to eat at d'Lite - Healthy On The Go (which was way better). Why did we take the food? Because we were raised not to waste it - and knew by taking it home, we could add flavor and other items to it to make it worth while - and we could HEAT IT UP. I read the Yelp! reviews for Frasher's, many were 4 & 5 stars, quite a few from elite members. I can only surmise that those reviews are from family members, or that Frasher's new they were coming because I honestly have no idea how anyone could give Frasher's such high ratings for cold, naked, bland food.

I was born and raised in the St Louis area, until I moved to Phoenix in 2000 when I was 25 years old. I have no idea how long Frasher’s Smokehouse has been around, as I recently just discovered (via a Google search for STL style pizza) that it serves STL style BBQ, pizza, and other goodies. Sad thing is, I’ve driven by this place numerous times and never even considered stopping in. Had there been any indication on the sign out front that it served STL style food, I would have tried it immediately. On to the food, which I will review from a St Louis native’s perspective. My wife started with the St Louis Salad. It was good (similar to Imo’s), but needs more provel cheese. Of course we got the toasted ravioli. The raviolis were slightly smaller than Imo’s, but still great. My son and I shared a large pizza - half pepperoni, half “the works”. It was fantastic. Closest pizza I’ve had to Imo’s outside of STL. The provel cheese was superb. However, where this place really shines is the Burnt Ends, which my wife ordered (and I had to sample). Tender, great smoky flavor, and pairs nicely with three choices of BBQ sauce. After enjoying our entrees, we were too full to have desert, but I just had to get a Gooey Butter Cake to go. I ate it shortly after getting back home, and it was delicious. Now that I know about this place, I will definitely make it a regular place to visit. On to some recommendations… Frasher’s Smokehouse really needs to lean in to its STL roots more. BBQ places are a dime a dozen, which is why I never noticed it before. We were there on a Friday night around 6:00pm, and aside from a local car club that was seated outside, there were only two other parties eating inside. They need something on the sign outside to indicate its STL style. They could also benefit from some STL decor inside the restaurant. Perhaps photos of the Arch, Busch Stadium, Anheuser-Busch signage, Cardinals/Blues sports memorabilia etc. I know there aren’t nearly as many St Louis natives in Phoenix as there are people from Chicago, New York, California, etc., but we are here, and there aren’t really any other places around like home.

This place is pretty basic. Went Friday night and got the catfish special, while my wife got the three meat combo. Food is just meh. Edible, but not a BBQ joint I would visit again. Nearly devoid of any smoke. Serving size is embarrassingly small, and the catfish was lacking in flavor in the coating, and it was mush, it was so overcooked. Three houses sauces: original, sweet, and spicy. Original is heavy on Rosemary, and neither the sweet not spicy is anything to write home about. Wife sent her sweet tea back saying it tasted bad. Sides: green Chile Mac and cheese was bearable. Garlic mashed potatoes were bland, could and pasty. Not even my teenager would eat them. Cole slaw with the catfish had possibilities. Loved the veggie mix, nice cut. But it had an almost blue cheese flavor. I love blue cheese, but it ruined the slaw. Tartar sauce was basically mayo with a squirt of relish. Hush puppies were by far the best option, but could have tolerated more seasoning. It was pretty dead at around 6pm when we were there. Confusing entrance on the south side. We approached from the east, which makes you walk past a smoker or other cooking device, and makes you feel like you're going through the kitchen when you enter from the south side front door. It's a little dark. Seats aren't all that comfy as someone else noted. And there is no sense of arrival. You just kind of walk into a bar area. Outdoor patio area was decent. Service could use some work. We started with one guy who seemed a little out of place. But he was later replaced by a young lady who did fine. Not super attentive for the lack of customers, but we weren't ignored either. Tolerable. But a one and done.

I have changed my review of this restaurant after recently going back and finding that things have taken a 360 degree turn at Frazier's written on 05/29/2019.

If you're looking for an extremely good barbecue experience Frazier's is the place to go not only will you receive great customer service and friendly tableside service, but you'll be able to really relax and unwind in this place ☺️

Compare to the Angry Crab, that is across the street you will get twice as much food, assorted sauces, and I have a full-service bar.

The only problem in my experience is that they close early approximately 8 PM. I believe, so get there early, when the meat comes directly out of the smoker to your plate.

Parking is no problem at this location there is lots of parking, sitting on their patio which has just been refurbished ☺️

Trying to smoke turkey the brisket and you'll be amazed at the quality of the food and the outstanding service you receive.

most of all your wallet will not be drained, and you'll come out with a full stomach, and you will be able to relax and enjoy your food at Frazier's which is delicious!

05 22 2019 update I'm frasher's smokehouse! I went to this restaurant yesterday with my brother we both water to pulled pork plate.

I was looking to enjoy the quiet atmosphere. I want some Joy at this establishment but I was accosted by the televisions blaring out extremely high volume the hockey game playoffs!

then I started eating my pulled pork and noticed how greasy it was extremely greasy went through with the pulled pork which I should not consumed all the way and sent back I did not want to bother my brother with this problem at that moment I just want some quiet to be able to talk but could not even hear what he was saying even when he talk loud and I'm not hard of hearing by any means it was obnoxious at the management of this restaurant allow this to go on this used to be a nice place to dine and had good food 5 would not recommend anyone go to this establishment and the longer it seems to have changed hands and the do not know how to prepare the pulled pork any longer I did not want dry pulled pork but I did not want pulled pork soaked in Greece without the fat removed!

I will no longer go to this establishment seeing that it must be under New Management or the management stop caring about the quality of their food and about the peace and relaxation of their...
