This was a first time experience, and sadly will be the last. This restaurant just opened its doors (Drive thru) because of the covid 19 situation. Being new, figured there would be some kinks to work out. However the corporate recipes and training should be standard and adhered to regardless. So here is my experience: we ordered 2 patty melts (standard menu) came with shoe string fries(standard), 2 chocolate malts and lastly a children’s cheeseburger which also came with shoe string fries and she wanted a strawberry shake. First the hamburgers and “lace” thin, crispy with no substance literally, the bread was standard rye bread then a slice of cheese and grilled onions. Basically when eating you taste bread and onion. Cheese was undetectable and the hamburger tasted like crispy pieces that are leftover on the grill, bland with no beef flavor. The shoe string fries are standard and nothing special. The chocolate malts were missing the malt flavoring and were so dark with chocolate syrup it tasted like they forgot the milk and custard!! The kids meal was equally as disappointing, again a crispy burger that was pressed so thin it looked like brown lace! The cheese was one slice of American cheese that honestly seeped through the burger and was left on the grill because the nothing was on the burger. Standard shoe string fries were a hit the the kiddo and her strawberry shake has strawberry pieces in it from the “strawberry custard” toppings. All in all they have a lot of work to do! Opening day jitters perhaps! Finally $35 for 3 fast food burger meals...
Read moreI was disappointed with the frozen custard on two occasions. On my first visit, I ordered a large concrete with two mixins. The frozen custard was delicious, but my concrete was severely short of mixins. I was surprised, and since this is a newly opened location, I thought it was a result of poor training or employee error.
On my second visit I ordered a regular sized combo, substituted onion rings for fries, and a large sundae at a total cost of $18.77. In my opinion, these are premium prices for fast food, so I was surprised to find that the portions were average sized or below. Again, the sundae toppings were extremely sparse compared to most other dessert destinations. My sundae was one of the featured desserts, the PBC&B sundae, which I oredered because it was just that... something familiar to make.
I can say that the food was delicious. However, the portions are limited, prices are high, and the toppings and mixins are all but missing on the custard. I will likely choose a different destination next time I'm craving a burger combo...
Read moreI regularly come to this Freddie's because of its proximity to my workplace. Recently returned, and was extremely disappointed to have to wait over 20 minutes just to order my food, because whomever is in charge opted not to open another register, despite a line out the door. The one employee that was taking orders, was apparently extremely new. I only have so long for lunch. I will probably not be returning again. I brought my concerns to the manager's attention, and got a noncommittal and unhelpful "thanks for letting me know" and then proceeded to change nothing. Having worked in fast food, I know how easy it is to simply shift responsibilities around. This visit was very disappointing. Also, apparently they're all blind or stupid. Some drifter just walked in and dispensed a ton of their soda into a large canteen without purchasing anything, and walked out, and nobody even...
