Tonight was a lot better but not perfect In and Out. How does such a successful restaurant not regularly change the fry oil. I know when fry oil is over-used and the fries tonight were not the light fried flavor but a heavy flavor, too brown. Not over cooked, just obviously old oil. Got onions on the side to make sure, and they were better tonight. Didn't have skin. When everything is perfect I will revert to five stars.
Past review: Worst In and Out experience ever. Moved from Oregon, super excited for In and Out in AZ, had not been in years; We had high expectations. Order taker was awesome, as was the guy that handed us our food.
We heard someone inside say "fries, we're waiting on you"... there was a long line at the drive through as usual.
Fries undercooked, so what was the point of serving them? Expecting fried potatos, got mildly cooked potato pieces. Onion on the cheeseburgers? Yes please! We both love onion. But who eats huge, thick, fat slices of onion with skin on their burger? Disappointed In and Out customers, thats who. I pulled the skin piece out in a string after biting into the burger the first time. What an embarrassing mess.
I'll revert to 5 stars next time I go and...
Read moreI really don’t understand the big hype and the regular long lines for the drive through. Sure, our friends from CA were thrilled when they opened at Desert Ridge. So, my daughter, her three younger kids and I decided to try it. Thank goodness we weren’t in a hurry. We all got the regular burger, fries and medium and small drinks for each. Wow! For the price, we could’ve gone to a nice sit down restaurant with table service and better food. The grade school age kids weren’t too thrilled, but some ate part of it. My daughter and I felt ill after eating just half our burgers because of all the grease, I imagine. We both looked at each other with the same disappointed look when we tried the fries. No flavor, some didn’t seem cooked enough. We ended up throwing out the rest since not even the kids wanted the fries. Since we always give a second try, we went back months later. We literally took one bite and ended up throwing our burgers out. Fortunately, we bought only one fries to share because we tossed those, too, before leaving the parking lot. I’d rather have a Culver’s or even a MacDonalds in...
Read moreI really like the burger quality/freshness at In-N-Out, but they routinely get our order wrong. I've had to resort to asking a couple of times during each order to be sure to just give us plain cheeseburgers with nothing on them but meat and cheese... and then checking after I get the order to make sure that is what it is (if I can tell by looking at the partially wrapped burger). My son will only eat a plain cheeseburger. I used to order grilled onions on my husband's burger and pickle on mine, but we would get home and find that they put pickles on all of them or there would be bits of onion chopped up and cooked into my son's, or some other variation that we did not ask for or want. Even when the receipt shows that the order was input correctly, we would still get some item made wrong. Probably about 80% of the time% We found the only way around it is to order everyone's cheeseburgers plain at that my 7 year old will be sure...
