Yo, yo, Yonutz is the place you didn’t know you needed to visit at least one time; because one time is all it will take to get you HOOKED!!! We went on Halloween 🎃 2024 because a family member was in town from NY and Yonutz popped up on her IG feed. After viewing the pictures all three of us were intrigued and pleasantly overwhelmed with all of the possibilities and combinations. We hopped in the car and embarked on a foodie roadtrip (20 minutes).🤣 It’s in the Desert Ridge Mall.; perfect location. We arrived in a well lit parking lot with ample parking. Upon entering, we were greeted with beautiful smiles and even better customer service. Demi, Skylar and Zipporah all greeted us like we were old friends. Thru answered all of our questions and made several suggestions. We ultimately ordered the Biscoff and the Strwnerry Shortcake and a Maple 🍁 bacon donut and a bottle of water. We watched them all being created, which as a chef is a visual experience. We sat and shared all of the delectable food. There was no coming back after tasting the Biscoff smash donut. It was surprisingly not as sweet as you may assume. It was the perfect balance of flavors. We didn’t even finish the other two items. So, we went back the next day and there was only Demi and Riyah (another pleasant encounter. Who also advised this is a family owned business. So, needless to say, we will continue to support this awesome business!!! This time we got a few donuts too. We had the banana pudding, apple pie, both Oreo smash donuts (they are 2/$10) and a PB@J. We never got around to the PN@ K because our cousin kept it for himself.😂 The banana pudding donut was extremely sweet but, the Oreos were “bussin”!!! Conclusion: Just go because you will not be disappointed. Make sure to get the Biscoff smash donut of nothing else. And the store was bright and welcoming and very well maintained.

**** edit to comment after owner response- thank you for your response but you didn’t miss the mark on just this day. This is clearly months of dirt and grime, weeks ago multiple reviews mentioned how dirty this place was* sUnfortunately we will not be back. If we would have noticed how disgustingly dirty this place was prior to ordering, we would have walked out without ordering. If this is what the common area looks like and inside the bake area where food is stored…. What does the back look like where the food is made!?!?? It truly looks like these floors, in the dining area and in the kitchen area have NEVER been cleaned. Ironically, while we were looking around, the ladies at the cash registered said out loud “ oh my gosh it’s so dirty under there” when moving the cash register. They then continued on about how gross it was. There was also a cup with old chocolate in it, sitting on the back corner of the ice cream fridge…… If I would have noticed this prior to finishing my food, I would have stopped eating and thrown it in the trash and left. Looking back, 3 weeks ago someone posted a review about this and they said they would take care of it……. They’ve had 3 weeks to deep clean……. They would not pass an inspection. I really feel ill thinking that I ate food from this place. Also, wipes were used to “ clean” the tables. Unless standards have changed I do not believe that meets food inspection guidelines….. what even more sad to me, is this generation that is working, sees this daily and finds it acceptable. Where is the owner?

So I kept seeing this Facebook ad talking about a donut with icecream smashed inside. I was like hmmm....🤔🤔🤔🤔 what is this sorcery?! At 44, should I even be considering eating this?? As a GenXr. I HAD TO. For some reason I had in my mind it was Downtown. I had an appointment downtown, so upon leaving I Googled it and Agatha (that's what I call the GPS),said it was in Desert Ridge. I couldn't believe I was that close this WHOLE TIME!! So I called because even though I live in the area I only go to the shops I can see from the main roads. The nice fella that answered said they were by Albertsons and FlyBye. I'm soo glad he didn't give me nautical directions landmark me please! I arrived it was some families inside eating, it was not crowded at all. They had regular donuts for people who don't want them smashed, and milkshakes too. I got the Biscoff and Kinder ones. I know what you are thinking it would be overly sweet. It wasn't at all. It was a perfect balance. The donut was really fresh too. I took mine to go and it wasn't even melted when I got home. I will be back. If you want a special dessert with all of the things or none of the things YoNutz is where it's at!

I really wanted to like this place after seeing all the hype for it! But it was a bit of a letdown. I could tell the girls working upfront didn't want to be there, which I get as someone who has worked in food before. But their unfriendly demeanors were offputting before we even got our food.

The process of choosing donuts, ice cream and toppings wasn't made clear to us, so we just got the first things we saw off of the menu because we felt like we were inconveniencing the people working there by just being inside.

We got smashed donuts, and when you consider that you're getting one donut and a scoop of ice cream with some toppings, $18 for two just doesn't really feel worth it. They do load on the toppings though which is great!

The donut itself wasn't very special, it was basically a regular cake donut that would come in a pack from Costco, and the ice cream wasn't very flavorful either. It's a very messy thing to eat, so having forks or spoons at the front would've been helpful!

The way the place is decorated inside is great! Very bright and vibrant, matches the vibes of the advertising perfectly.

I just wish the girls working upfront were friendlier. I don't normally complain about service as I completely understand the dread of working a job like this, but it just didn't make me feel great or excited about...
