Thus restaurant serves vegetarian and nonvegetarian food. Visited this place for the first time on a Saturday evening around 6. When we went in, I told the waitress or hostess in the front that we were a party of 5. She promptly and curtly informed us that if we did not have a reservation we can sit at the bar or outside. Then she left. I waited for someone else to come by so I can ask how long the wait would be if I didn’t have a reservation or if I could make a reservation. When no one returned to the front we decide to leave and go somewhere else. While we were walking out the manager caught us and said they could fit us in. We were the seated. The restaurant was extremely busy. It took quite sometime for someone to come take our order. We received our appetizer without any plates or silverware. We asked for those items and received them shortly afterwards. We had to ask for water refills multiple time before we received them. We did not complain. Food arrived. The chicken tikka was really good. Samosa was ok. We also ordered paneer makhani, Malai Kofta, Manchurian and naan. The naan was nice, but the rest of the food was mediocre. There weren’t any Indian customers so that should have been our first clue. The restaurant was just too busy for us to get proper service. Anyway we waited quite some time after finishing the meal for someone to come by. We just wanted the check. While we were waiting the Manager was called to the table next to us. The party there was complaining about something. All of the sudden I see the manager point to us and say loudly “I’m sorry but they didn’t have a reservation so we are just busy”. That was a surreal moment because so far we hadn’t complained about anything. After that I flagged the waitress down and said we need the check. We just want to get out of here. I did speak with the manager As well. She denied saying what I heard. The bottom line is the prices are high, the ambiance, service and taste of food does not justify needing to make a reservation. We will not...
Read moreWe went on a Saturday evening. We went inside and they said we had to sit at the bar or outside, and we were totally okay with that. We asked again just to check if they had any open tables available for 5. They said no. We were okay with that so we started walking out and they told us to come back in the restaurant. They pulled us back in the restaurant and told us to wait. So we did, we got a table it was very wobbly we were also okay with that. So we sat down and ate happily. Close to the end, our waiter acted like we were not even there. Me and my family were okay with that we were not going to make any complaints. Later that night, the manager had told the table right next to us that we were the reason that the they did not get good service. Just because we did not have a reservation. She pointed to one of us and said that. We called her over and and talked to her about it and she denied it. We were happy in the beginning, we were very thankful for them getting us a table. They had many good food options. Food for vegetarians and vegans. It was a bit over priced. They did not have many breads to eat things with. But over all we were hoping for...
Read moreWife and I wanted some curry so decided to try Marigold Maison. It's a bit difficult to find. It is behind the In & Out but is not at the corner as the map indicated but on the south side. We sort that out quickly enough.
We walk in an empty restaurant see pics, the patio was empty. We took a minute to look at the menu and waited to be seated. A man walked up and asked how many. We said just the two of us. With a bit of an attitude he says we're full and walks away. It was Friday evening before 6pm.
We were perplexed but left without incident and went across the street to Outback Steak House which was completely full but had us at a table in a couple of minutes.
Maybe it was a bad employee, or maybe just having issues in the back. Whatever the reason it is inexcusable to treat guests that way. There are a number of good Indian Cuisine establishments in the valley. Such as India Palace, Indian Delhi Palace, and many others.
I suggest going to one of them. I have never been refused service before at any establishment. I am simply appalled by...
