Red Lobster Scottsdale and General Manager have no CLUE how to handle a minor issue or deliver even sub par customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!
The resort my family and I stayed at in Scottsdale gave us a $100 voucher for specific restaurants in the area. Red Lobster was not only listed as one, but we called prior to going to triple check. The woman on the phone explained that there was a recent change in ownership, but that Red Lobster would honor the vouchers until August 1st. This is the ONLY reason we went to Red Lobster. The food was sub par at BEST. The $11.49 "meal add-on" of king crab leg consisted of 2 small legs that tasted terrible, and the sirloin was chewy, cooked completely wrong, and impossible to cut. When it came time to pay, our waitress Patty came back with the check and told us they didn't accept the $100 voucher. We explained that literally two hours ago we called to make sure and were told that they did. The manager came back with not much to say other than "um well" and "there's not much we can do..." without looking us in the eye- didn't seem like a very functioning restaurant manager, coming from someone who has had many years experience in the business. We politely told him that not only was his restaurant listed as one that accepted the voucher, but that we were explicitly guaranteed that the voucher would be honored not more than two hours prior by one of his employees. He walked away to "see what he can do". Roughly 10min later, the waitress came back and silently took the rest of our payment which was cash. After that, we sat for over 30 MINUTES waiting for response until we realized that they were literally just going to let us sit there wondering if they were going to accept the vouchers or not. Once we realized this we left- as the manager watched us walk out, we knew our suspicions were true. The most awkward and unprofessional experience at a "nice" restaurant I've ever experienced. Come to Red Lobster for overpriced, low quality food, and make sure you hit up the Scottsdale location for the dysfunctional 0% customer...
Read moreBecause of all the other seafood places that compete in AZ these days Red Lobster, (Cactus Rd, PV) was a nostalgic choice.
Service: Top notch. hostess, waiter (Noah), all attentive, considerate, promt. Atmosphere: Depressing, other locations have made modern upgrades, this location is now twice behind. Smells musky, as the result of old paint, carpet, and booths. Lobster Tank: Another cliche time warp that belongs in a aquarium. Food: The biscuits are still the bomb. After that, sketchy...! I tried the Lobster Bisque soup, it was like a pale tomato soup with no bits of lobster. I regretted not getting the New England Clam Chowder. The Fish & Chips were served in a newspaper wrap, smacking of British authenticity without the peas, however the battered fish was not golden crisp with tender meat, each piece was a greasy sponge! The fries were were either home made or brought in, delicious and unique. Coleslaw, no complaints and generous portion. Tartar Sauce was weak, I would suggest finding another traditional recipe. Conclusion: Red Lobster seems to change the fish they use in the Fish & Chips and sometimes they get it right while others are dead wrong. I know it's an off critique for such an extensive menu but then Fish & Chips is a staple in the world of Seafood, like Fried Rice in any Chinese. It should not just "look" British for the cost. Would I come again? No. Because of my opening line, I know of modern Seafood places that are consistent and striving for my business who have surpassed this senile...
Read moreMy husband and I went there last night to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We don't get to go out on a "date" alone together very often. We were seated promptly, and our waiter Mike greeted us just a few minutes later. He asked us if we were there for any special occasion and we told him that it was our 10th wedding anniversary, and if he would please bring us our drinks and wait a little while to order our food, he said "no problem, this is a very special night for you two." He brought us our drinks was very attentive, but not hovering, just checking in and letting us have our time together. (We have a 13 year old daughter at home, so we were really enjoying just talking and listening to each other, lol) Any way he was super great, made our night extra special, the food was awesome. To top it all off they brought us cake with a candle and told us to make a wish together. When he brought us our bag and containers to take home our left overs, he had written on the bag. 2 interlocking hears and "Happy 10th Anniversary" My husband and I have both been in the restaurant business for many years and know what good service is and this was GREAT service!! I even asked to speak to the manager before we left just to tell him what a great time we had and how great Mike was, and I don't do that very often. Thank you again everyone for a wonderful evening, great food and great service! We will be back, and we will be asking...
