I came here for the food. Everything else was fine, the seating, the ability to watch almost any sporting event known to man on all of their screens, our server was good. But i came here for the food primarily and i was left disappointed. It should be stated though that the fried pickles were pretty good.
I ordered the Arizona burger but added on a fried egg because I'm a sane person (fried eggs are an amazing option for almost every burger). So on the Arizona burger there is pepper jack cheese, tomatillo salsa, pico de gallo and green chile...plus my addition of the egg along with the burger itself and a thick bun...
With all of that, i assumed that this burger would have some amount of flavor, but it ended up being one of the saddest burger experiences I've had. When you go to certain establishments you have certain expectations, and mine weren't really that high for Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers. I wasn't expecting McDonald's and i wasn't expecting anything immensely glorious, because lets face it-burgers are easily made to perfection at home.
This burger tasted mainly like the bun, because it was thick and overpowering. Even with a bun like that, i expected to get a punch of flavor from all of the rest of the ingredients but that never happened. The green chile was weak and had no heat and hardly any recognizable flavor, the pepper-jack was extremely mild, and the egg was reduced to a texture element with a runny yolk (which is what i wanted in that regard). To top it all off, the burger was just nearly non-existent in flavor. I realized all of this once i got halfway through my burger-I was searching for the elements i would normally experience with this kind of burger, (which I've definitely made myself) and I shouldn't have to do that, they should be up front.
Maybe change up the bun choice, maybe that'll work, because I can at least say that the artisan bun is too much bread, and not simple enough to let the ingredients it contains get a chance to shine. Burgers should not be this hard to get to work, and if the name of your establishment has the word "cheeseburgers" in your title, you better...
Read moreEvey time we place an order online or call it never seems to be done when they specify. We usually wait 10 to 15 minutes but tend to not care because we loved the food. Last time we ordered my girlfriend purposely waited and came in about 5 minutes later so she didn't have to wait. After being told it would be ready soon she waited nearly 15 minutes before checking on the order again. The young lady went to check and told her it would be only a minute before it was done. But that was soon followed by another hostess who told it was going to be awhile. Frustrated at this point my girlfriend friend told them she was running to Walmart to grab something and hoped it would be ready by the time she returned. By the time she returned it had been over 45 minutes since we originally ordered and nearly 30 minutes since she had gotten to the restaurant and still the food was not done. Not only was it not done the hostesses also blatantly ignored while she stood at the hostess desk waiting to ask about the order. After standing there for 5 minutes one of the hostesses, with out a word let alone an apology nor explination, handed her our food. Once arriving home with the food we found the sandwich and fries I had ordered was soggy and nasty like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for over half an hour while her food seemed to be freshly made. For a restaurant to allow food that has been sitting that long, not to mention it was ham with mayo on it, and let it leave with a customer is inexcusable. We put in a review to the website and still have not recieved a phone call or email apologizing or explaining...
Read moreFor Valentines Day my wife and I planned that I would pick up food from what used to be one of our favorite places to eat instead of going out after I finished work at 7 pm. This turned out to be a bad experience. I arrived at 7:20 pm and they indicated food would be ready at 7:30 so I expected to wait a little bit which was no problem. Nobody was at the front desk, but when I walked in I noticed our order was up on a wall by the front desk, so I grabbed it and left. I got home maybe a few minutes later because we live in walking distance from the restaurant. We took the food out and began eating. The burgers were not even like warm which was a huge disappointment to both me and my wife because if you ever reheat a burger in a microwave, it isn’t as good!! My wife asked for the sweet potato tots and instead received fries. We spent $53.05 for 2 burgers and our order of fried pickles which were still warm but not hot. We then tried calling multiple times for the next couple hours and of course, no answer! Left a message and nobody has called back. It’s now mid afternoon the next day and still nothing. We last went to Hop Dodds on Scottsdale Rd and did the same type of order for pick up and our food was hot, not barely Luke warm. Obviously they must of immediately done our order and let it sit out to cool way down. Do you think we got a response, apology or anything off or back on a next visit? ...
