I’ve been going to this place since it’s opened. The food is good/fair, decent that’s why we continue to go. I’ll give a 7 on a scale of 10. However, last Saturday was my last day. I’ll no longer return.
Here’s why…. I have a 3 year old daughter. We brought her happy meal in from McDonald’s because she doesn’t eat the food from this restaurant. This is a mariscos restaurant. The server(who was really rude, not friendly at all and looked like she wasn’t having the worse day of her life), serving our table approached us and said “we don’t allow outside food,” she grabbed my daughters food and threw it away. Again, as mentioned before, we have been going to this restaurant since it opened and not once has it ever been a problem but yesterday it so happened to be a problem. If I was told at the door, that would have been a different story. We could of simply waited in the lobby and allowed my 3 year old daughter to finish her meal, but that wasn’t the case. We had no option, it was thrown away. No one told us anything when we walked in, they never do. It’s never a problem.
Mind you, me and my wife order our own meal, like always, same meal we always order. Our bill is roughly &100.00 plus a $20.00 tip. We are out the door $120.00 for two people at this restaurant and my daughters $5 happy meal was still thrown away. I could definitely understand if it was me or my wife that brought food from outside, for us to eat, BUT THAT CLEARLY WASNT THE CASE. It was for my 3year old daughter.
It’s was the most disgusting thing ever. Not sure how you can sleep at night knowing you took food from a 3 year olds mouth, all because she doesn’t eat the food you provide at a MARISCOS RESTAURANT.
$120.00 dollars for 2 people Wasn't enough for you guys?? This greed really shows at the place of business. I will...
Read more🌟 5 Stars – A True Taste of Mexico at El Nuevo Altata
From the moment I stepped into El Nuevo Altata on West Thomas Road, I felt welcomed by the warm, homey atmosphere. The cozy booths are perfect for settling in with family or friends, and the Mexican ranch-style décor—complete with rustic wood accents, traditional artwork, and colorful touches—creates an inviting space that feels both authentic and relaxed.
The food is something truly special. Every bite bursts with flavor—the kind of depth and freshness you only get when recipes are honored and ingredients are chosen with care. I particularly enjoyed the seafood tacos, which featured perfectly cooked fish, tangy salsa fresca, and just the right hint of citrus that brought everything together. Each dish felt like it was prepared with a great deal of respect for tradition.
Service at El Nuevo Altata is another highlight. The team is courteous and attentive but never overbearing. They are clearly passionate about their menu and were happy to offer suggestions (server-recommended ceviche is a must-try!). I appreciated how they took the time to explain each dish authentically, without making the experience feel like a sales pitch—just genuine enthusiasm for great food.
All in all, El Nuevo Altata offers more than just a meal—it’s an immersive, heartfelt dining experience where the culture, flavors, and hospitality shine. If you're craving authentic Mexican seafood and superb service, this place should be at the top of your list. Highly...
Read moreI don’t ever leave reviews or even take my time to type one but I’m a waitress myself & NEVER have I experienced this type of service. We got here at 9:38. Sat down for 30 minutes until we told someone I think who was the manager that nobody had helped us, keep in mind, it’s Mother’s Day & it’s not even packed. They asked to take our food order & that they’d be back for our drink order. He took our food order & 10 minutes someone else took our drink order. They close at 11 & our food STARTED coming out at 11:20 & that was only ONE plate which came with a fly inside so they took it back. It’s 11:40 right now & they’re barely finishing serving the rest of the table. I understand kitchens get backed up & that’s not even the problem. I just know as a waitress, NOBODY ever once came to check up on us or even just tell us something like “the kitchens backed up but your food will be right out” the place caught our attention as we drove by because of the Mother’s Day decorations they had set up & the lights on the patio but I’m never coming back again, the service was the worst & so was the wait on food, drinks & service. Super...
