Simplify your day. Prioritize proper nutrition. Cuddle like a bear hibernating. Sleep well. Eating at Molly's you might easily knock all of those out. Located in a strip mall, doesn't look like much when you are sandwiched between an Irish Pub and a weed shop other than these people have food taste when they have the munchies.
Had this bookmarked but stumbled here after another local eatery was too busy and one closed. Molly's Thai is definitely authentic...call me biased but I am a big fan and a good source, being Thai. Not to mention, three visits in a week justifies a valid food critic right?!?!!
With that said though, this isn't fancy, just consistent good food. It's always busy with pick up orders or take out. Hands down the best summer shrimp rolls. Fresh and with the right ingredients like mint leaves. The peanut sauce is probably one of the best versions out there. The veggie rolls are good but doesn't satisfy my craving without meat like pork or chicken. But flaky and yummy. My go to is always Panang or Red Curry since I like spice. The pumpkin curry is really good too but some may prefer their pumpkin cut down in cubes rather than slices. My only suggestion is to maybe flash fry the chicken and this would knock it out of the park. My boyfriend prefers the drunken noodles or broccoli delight with tofu and veggies.
Service is typical of a busy popular spot with regulars. Molly's husband Brock is the greeter, usually overwhelmed and running ragged. The server/bus girl, and probably line cook, is comedic telling you to level up on spice. Warning, whoever cooks on Sundays, however, takes the spice level up an extra notch. Or maybe because they know I am ordering but even Thai Hot was a bit much for me third time around.
Overall this might be my new neighborhood Thai gem. Spend time with people who are good for your mental health and eat good food from Molly's for your...
Read morePrior to COVID, my husband and I had not visited Molly's. We love our "date night" Friday nights so when our normal "go-to" Thai restaurant decided, after over a year and a half, to remain closed to dine-in patrons we gave Molly's a try. I am so glad we did! Their food is so fresh and flavorful. I routinely order the Ginger Angel (though the snow pea dish is excellent, too) with chicken. Because I don't eat rice, I order a side of steamed vegetables to add to my dish. This is perfect as it always gives me leftovers to enjoy later! My husband is partial to the Ginger Fantasy which has chicken, beef and shrimp. Both of us order medium heat and it's the perfect amount of spice to go along with the bite of the ginger. Try the shrimp rolls (it has a different name which I don't remember) which are so good and the perfect way to begin a meal. The prices are in line with other Thai/Chinese establishments so it's easy on your pocketbook. It can be busy as the staff shuttles between dine-in and take-out but the service is always pleasant and accommodating. So glad we found...
Read moreHands down, some of the best Thai I’ve had in the Phoenix area. The flavors of the Panang Curry were the right amount of sweet and curry with a lovely mix of vegetables. The chicken was tender, not dry as can happen when sliced thin, and for the price was just the right sized serving (had enough to take home for breakfast the next day).
My friends had the Ginger Fantasy and the Pad Thai… and raved about the Ginger Fantasy.
Would have given the place 5 stars but the young waitress looked more like she belonged serving in Hooters with the shortest shorts and a very short crop top. Then she could literally only bring one thing to the table at a time. One dish, we asked for chopsticks, and she brought one pair. Then she brought dish 2, no chopsticks. Then she brought dish 3, no chopsticks. Then she brought the rice for the curry, no chopsticks. THEN she finally brought the chopsticks. It was comical really.
But she was friendly, and sweet, and the food made up for the lack of...
