🌟 Must-Try in Victoria: The Beach House Restaurant - Unbeatable Quali

A Delicious and Funky Neighborhood Gem! The Beach House is a true hidden gem that delights with its unique atmosphere and mouthwatering Mexican-fusion cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to a funky, laid-back beach vibe adorned with quirky decor like a defunct 1960s Volkswagen. But the real star is the food! We devoured the famous fish and shrimp tacos, a pork taco, and shared the carne asada nachos. The tacos were bursting with flavor and made with high-quality ingredients that rivaled fine dining. The salsas, from the zesty green to the molten volcano, added the perfect kick. At just $7 for three tacos and with affordable sides like $3 slushie lemonades and a $2 brownie, the value can't be beaten. Despite being incredibly busy, the friendly staff made us feel welcome and accommodated. The Beach House truly embodies the philosophy of "find what you love and do it!" It's a one-of-a-kind taco concept that liberates the humble taco into a culinary art form. With great food, lively vibes, and amazing prices, it's no wonder there was a line out the door of locals. An absolute must-visit!

The food is good but not great; the prices are fair which is why I think it is so busy. Personally it’s not worth the wait to me (order ahead) and I don’t understand how they have a line out the door even in the summer. It’s so small there’s no indoor space for customers at all probably because this building was never intended to be a restaurant. I live nearby and this place is constantly creating traffic hazards. There is a tiny parking lot that is not big enough for its’ business, they have been there for many years and it seems time to me they upgrade to a bigger location with an actual parking lot. I even see cops parked illegally to eat here on a semi-regular basis. People park next to the stop sign on camelback near 7th st, an extremely busy area. People ignore “no parking beyond this point” and permit parking only signs to eat here. Has anyone ever considered public safety?? I feel like it creates unnecessary risk when I just need to leave my neighborhood or come home and I can’t see cars coming because their customers are parked illegally.

This was my first time eating here after several recommendations from friends & family. The reason I’m rating it 1 stars is as follows. I ordered 3 shrimp tacos, 3 fish tacos and 1 rice bowl w/ marinated shrimp. I asked for corn tortillas and no cheese on either entree’s. After waiting and getting my food, I found that they didn’t really listened well to my request, although the lady taking the order verbally confirmed my order prior to me paying. I received the 3 shrimp tacos & 3 fish tacos on flour tortillas and one of the shrimp tacos had the white crumbs of cheese in one end as if they made a mistake and tried to pick it out. The rice bowl also had a portion in one corner full with white crumbs of cheese. Then the next part. I understand there’s an up-charge for ordering the marinated shrimp tacos and rice bowl with shrimp, however it was very disappointing seeing that the tacos were loaded with cabbage and just 3 small pieces of shrimp. All I tasted was the cabbage and the chipotle sauce, not worth the up-charge. Then with the rice bowl, I only got 5 pieces of shrimp for a whole bowl that was filled with nothing but rice and again heavily loaded on cabbage. The battered fish tacos were also mostly batter and a very small thin piece of fish in the middle. I would say the fish measured no more than 1/4 inch (maybe less) in size and the batter was about a 1/2 inch thick. In my opinion and being how I’ve had shrimp & fish tacos in other locations for the same price or lower, the amount of shrimp & fish being served here per taco or per bowl is surprisingly disappointing and greedy. I will say the taste is good but the amount of seafood that is served is unusually less than other places and not worth the price at all. I’m not sure if this is a way for them to save money by serving less, but if that’s the case they should lower their prices on the shrimp tacos because they are not worth $3.50. I definitely don’t think I will be returning anytime in the future as the food was very inadequate and disproportionate in the serving sizes, and was a bit frustrating eating mouthfuls of cabbage. Hopefully the owner sees my review and makes the changes necessary to serve quality food at the right quantities and provides better training to the employee taking the order to better understand the requests of the customer when asked to leave specific products out, as most times these are done due to dietary...

My recent visit to The Beach House left me with mixed feelings. The food was undeniably pretty good and affordable, but unfortunately, the overall experience was marred by subpar customer service.

While placing our order, we encountered a cashier with curly blonde hair who, despite being friendly to other patrons, displayed a hint of rudeness towards us. I truly understand having bad days, and this initial encounter might have been forgivable if not for the subsequent neglect of our order.

First, she failed to inquire whether we preferred to dine in or take out, and instead, assumed takeout without confirmation. This oversight became apparent when we noticed other patrons being promptly served their dine-in orders (about 5-10 minutes after ordering, despite them being right before us and a group of more 3). Despite her initial friendliness, the cashier's demeanor towards us seemed indifferent, eventually leading to a frustrating 30-minute wait for our food while we were now very hungry. Might I add, it was fairly empty and the only people in line when we arrived were literally us and the group of 3 in front of us. When my partner finally decided to ask about out food, it was disappointingly lukewarm, having been left unattended near the cashier for who knows how long and just handed to him when he asked. Our names had 't been called and we weren't served our food like the other dine-in patrons before us.

It was definitely concerning to see the apparent discrepancy in service between us and other patrons, it honestly overall felt a little discriminatory. As the only diners of different races in the establishment while we were there, this experience left a sort of sour taste.

While The Beach House has good food, attention to customer service is...

It's a walk-up shack and was a predominantly younger (under-25) crowd at noon on a Friday. Parking can be tricky—many nearby roads have “no parking” signs, so I ended up two blocks away and made the trek in.

Upon arriving at noon on a Friday, the line to order was down the sidewalk. Now, I typically wouldn't choose to wait in a 40+ minute long line in the heat, but "when in Rome"...

The shade, water misters and fans located near the ordering window were a welcome reward for patiently melting in line.

The menu was plentiful and the staff was very friendly.

The wait to order could have been easily fixed by having more than one person take the orders. So either I went on the worst/day and time, or they like the optics of people waiting in massive lines down the block.

Seating was at max capacity on this particular day too, so we ended up sharing a picnic table, which was perfectly on-brand to the vibe of the place.

I was pleasantly surprised at the speed at which my food arrived, once ordered. Everything tasted good and my companions raved about the all you can drink slushies.

I would have to go back on off-peak hours to see if things move along a little faster. I just don't like any food enough to wait that...
