The food quality is 4 stars but the experience I had with catering food from Valle Luna's on 35th avenue and is 1 star.
I called on Tuesday 4/15 and spoke with the opening manager Tristan to place a catering order for pick up that Saturday 4/19 at 4PM. He was thorough taking my order, writing everything down and even repeated it back to me at the end. He then told me it was okay that I call Saturday and speak with a manager to give my credit card over the phone to pay because the person picking it up for me wouldn't have my card.
I called Saturday and the opening manager (maybe Vicki?) said they aren't able to take credit cards over the phone due to fraud issues, which I understood. But she made an exception since Tristan said I could. I was grateful for that.
However, when that person who picked up the order arrived at our house (40 minutes away from the restaurant), our entire steak & chicken fajita bar for 20 people was missing. I had also requested that the party be placed in aluminum pans instead of a plastic tray and it came on a plastic tray.
I called and spoke with the closing manager Tristan and told him what happened with the missing fajita bar. He said we weren't charged for it and that he didn't have it written down as part of our order. When I told him we discussed it Tuesday and he even repeated the order back to me correctly from he'd written down, he said he didn't remember that conversation. He said he would have to talk to his cooks to see if they could make it happen since they were busy and it was a Saturday night but he would have to charge me. While I was on hold, I ended up hanging up because my brother-in-law just ordered from another local taco shop instead. Tristan never called me back nor apologized for anything during our phone conversation.
We ended up finding a solution but the way the situation was handled was very unprofessional and upsetting considering how much we had already spent on our catering order. There should be a better, fool-proof system in place for placing catering orders so something so inconvenient like this doesn't happen to anyone else. Very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give zero stars, I would. I havenāt ate here yet ever I just moved here from Ohio not even a month ago I was doing DoorDash and had to pick up at this restaurant when I got to the pick up window, I was greeted by the most sweetest, handsome, kind hearted smile Iāve ever seen, the gentleman with autism and he instantly just made me smile. He had a gentleman standing next to him Iām assuming helping him with his job. I gave the name for my order, and the young man got my food. He handed it to me with the biggest smile, and the gentleman that was standing next to him, confirmed that my order was correct. I was delivering it to Scottsdale when I got two minutes from the customers home. I got a phone call from a lady that worked there that they gave me the wrong order āand the boy with the disability did itāand I needed to return it back to the restaurant. Now when it comes to DoorDash if the order is wrong, technically, Iām not supposed to return it back to the restaurant. Usually thatās on the restaurant, then what would happen would be the customer would just get a refund or part of their money back but the restaurant didnāt want to lose money or food so They told me I had to bring it back right then and there but once the lady start talking about the male with autism, I just turned around and went back to the restaurant the manager decided to come to the window when I got there and blamed me for everything, and when I told him that one of his employees blamed it on the person with autism, he then laughed in my face, shrugged his shoulders and walked off. I will never eat at that place. They just showed that theyāre about the money and not about making him comfortable working there or teaching his employees about respecting people even if they have a disability because whatever happened that day that was not on him, he had someone clearly that was supposed to help him and make sure that he was giving out the right order!!! That really hurt my feelings to know he was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited this restaurant for dinner recently, in the middle of the week. I arrived at peak time around 6:55 pm. Restaurant was packed but wait was reasonable, about 15 min. They have nice waiting area with comfortable benches. The atmosphere is very festive. I was seated at a booth. On Mondays, they have their house margarita for 99 cents, limit 3 per person. I expected it to be watered down, but was pleasantly surprised as it tasted decent. The chips are warm and salsa was good. I wanted to order the burrito bowl because I planned on having the flan for dessert. With the burrito bowl you have the option of picking your meat, then come the standard toppings (beans, cheese etc), then you get 3 additional toppings for the price listed. Well, here is when things went south. I asked the waitress if I could have vegetables substituted for the meat. She pointed to the list and said that I can add any of these vegetables that are listed as additional toppings. You get 3 for free and the others are 50 cents more. I clarified with her, that I wanted to SUBSTITUTE vegetables for the meat as a base. They have calabacitas and grilled vegetables available as a side, so they have the ingredients. However, she said no. There is no option to do that. I asked again and she again said no. Unfortunately I ended up ordering something else because ordering a burrito bowl in this manner would not be worth it. In this day and age, if you cannot put together a burrito bowl with vegetarian option when you have the ingredients in the restaurant, you are not even trying. The waitress spoke English fluently, I spoke English fluently. There was no language barrier. So despite everything else this restaurant may have done nicely, I'm giving it 1 star. This is just not acceptable. It is 2022. I wasn't asking for imitation meat or tofu. I was asking for grilled veggies in my burrito bowl instead...
