Update: 10/23/2023
FOOD IS A 4.5 STARS SERVICE IS DOWN TO A One star because zero is not an option.
Sat for 14 min before the staff came to get our order. The phone and the order pickup delivery app for their POS keeps on dinging while people are waiting to be seated and people picking up to go orders.
No one is at the front. The man who buss the table just stands there and doesn't at least acknowldge the newly arrived customers. Food came in and needed another bowl of basmati rice and I keep on getting the finger from the server....to wait. Wait...and wait. He gave me the bill and I said we are not done earing yet and I just wanted to get a bowl of rice while my flod is still warm....nope.....I was given the finger to wait....and waited and waited.
If you are really hungry and wanting a food right away don't come here. Or maybe order your to go and arrive late...as your food probably won't be ready when you get there. Bring your own drink of water as they won't replenish your water unless you asked for more.
I wish they improve the service as this is the only Indian Restaurant in the Phoenix metro that are open on Monday night.

My wife and I came in to try this new Indian restaurant on a Wednesday night at 8PM. We ordered a mango lasibamd a tumeric lemonade. It was nice. We ordered a vegetable samosas for appetizers...it was good. My wife ordered an order of garlic naan and chicken tika masala and I ordered the special boneless biryani. The chicken tika masala came in first with the naan....then 5 minutes later is my biryani. The food presentaion is great and it actually taste good too. The service is lacking. They host needs to speak up louder and the server needs to checknon their tables (well, we were the only two people there). We have to ask for extea sause and water more than twice. Well, we will give it another go. Will see if there's any improvements with...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Dosa Place in Phoenix, AZ, and let me tell you, it was a culinary experience to remember. From the moment we stepped through the doors, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance that enveloped the restaurant. The soft lighting and beautiful decor created the perfect setting for a delightful meal.
Now, let's get to the star of the show—the food! We started off our culinary adventure with the Chicken Mapas, and oh my, it was a burst of flavors that left our taste buds dancing with joy. The tender chicken cooked in a rich and aromatic sauce was a true delicacy. The spices were perfectly balanced, allowing each ingredient to shine, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors.
Next, we indulged in the Khili Parota, and it was nothing short of a revelation. The flaky, layered bread was so incredibly light and crispy, it practically melted in our mouths. The accompanying curry added an extra layer of complexity to each bite, creating a delightful interplay of textures and tastes.
But the real showstopper was, of course, the dosa. It was an absolute masterpiece—crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside.
Overall, our experience at Dosa Place was nothing short of exceptional. The authenticity of the dishes, combined with the inviting ambiance, created a memorable dining experience. I would also like to mention Joe who served us added an extra layer of warmth and friendliness to our dining experience at Dosa Place.
If you find yourself in North Phoenix, I highly recommend paying a visit to Dosa Place. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking for a unique culinary adventure, this restaurant will not disappoint. Prepare to be transported to a world of exquisite flavors and warm...
Read moreThe food is great! Nothing to complain.. Taste is very good. Way way better than any other South Indian restaurant we have tried in the valley. Their Sambar is the by far best of all places we’ve tasted in the valley.. Ambience is fine..
Service can improve a little though. One time probably like 2-3 months ago, they Idly came way later than Dosa, which is not what one would expect. Idly would be consumed more as a starter item and Dosa later. When asked, the waiter said it takes more time to prepare Idly.. Really??? If that’s the case, why don’t they tell that at the time of ordering. It’s like bringing the dessert first (because it’s ready) and the main item or soup later.. Secondly, the staff seem to be busy at the billing counter or going in & out of the kitchen; they rarely looked at our table, when we wanted their attention (for water or to order the next round of items).
The other thing that is silly about this place is: during the last 3-4 visits, the waiter was pretty reluctant leaving one menu book on the table.. (there wasn’t a much crowd there either). He was hell bent on collecting the menu book and was pushing us for using the QR code to look it up online.. Not everyone is comfortable reading from the menu on the phone. Why are they so particular holding on to menu book??
Last time, about a month ago, the same waiter was trying to stow the menu book m in one corner of the booth, stating that there will be no space for the dishes. Seriously??? stop taking customers for granted or treat them like 5th graders. Customers know how to manage their space on the table..
We wouldn’t say it was rude or arrogant, but we found the behavior a bit big-brotherish and annoying..
I would have give 5...
