Vecchia used to be a favorite spot of ours. It’s still one of my wife’s favorite spots. But after three straight negative experiences I will be actively trying to stray her away, despite how delish the pizza. I’m hopeful the new owners will learn from some of the recent feedback and attempt to make good on some of this.

First negative experience 9/2/22: We decide to go out on first Friday with friends and our kids. To be safe we try making a reservation. Unfortunately our reservation, booked hours in advance, could only be a “reservation request”. Of course, we cannot call-in because it’s before they open. To be safe we go at 5:30 thinking it’s early enough to still get a table as a plan B. upon arrival, our reservation wasn’t accepted and we couldn’t be accommodated. Fine, bad luck maybe. The owner/gm/manager/host was very polite and apologetic. He said he could likely take us 30-40 minutes. Fine. We exchanged numbers, he put our names on the new wait list and were hopeful to come back. No call. No pizza. After going out of our ways to make a reservation that was rejected (no reason given) coupled with physically adding our name to the wait list, we still were unable to dine-in.

Second negative experience (couple weeks back):

When I travel my wife used to love getting vecchia take-out. It was her default takeout. She would frequent vecchia so much I would tease her that she was just going in to flirt with the old owner. personally, pizza like that I like to enjoy hot right out of the oven, not as takeout. Of course this time my wife convinced me, let’s get vecchia takeout. Fine. We order a classic Cesar salad ($14). first I think wow, prices have gone up, but then thought okay, maybe appropriate based on the size and is likely shareable. Not the case. This was a small Caesar salad. Not only was it small, but it was barely shareable (i literally had 3 bites). What does a Caesar salad have, 3 ingredients? Come on, $14. This wasn’t even a $7 salad.

Negative experience 3 (couple weeks prior to the last):

This was long after the new owners opened doors. This time we didn’t have a reservation or a reservation request (whatever that means). A true “walk-in” so I knew our chances of getting a table was slim. But, once again, we came early (we have a baby) and thought we might get lucky. Sure enough, we walk by with a boat load of tables outside and one table occupied inside, so we were feeling pretty good about getting a table. We check-in with the hostess who tells us there will be a wait. A wait for 2 adults and a baby, despite there literally only being 1 table occupied inside and additional vacant tables outside. Fine. A wait. I’ve been in the restaurant business and understand the need to accommodate future reservations. We wait for 1 hour (my wife really wanted her pizza). We come back. there are now 2 tables occupied inside not including our own, and again, countless tables outside. Food was delish (as always). Will we wait again for one hour despite there being open tables before and AFTER we dine,...

I thought I would give this pizza shop a try, I’ve lived here in Phoenixville for over 20 years and never experienced such blatant ignorance. I went in to pick up my order which I placed over the phone over 20 minutes prior, what I experienced was absurd to say the least. I walked in right after another person who apparently had placed a to go order as well, he was greeted, I wasn’t. Ok maybe the greeter thought we were together, no problem. After a few mins he got his order handed to him and left. I was still standing there right in front of the greeter, but still didn’t say a word to me. I stood there literally for 10 mins as I watched other folks come in and immediately greeted. I thought am I invisible! After sometime I stopped what turned out to be the manager, explained my issue and all he kept saying was ok ok and ok . I ended up cancelling my order and walking out! Never thought I would be treated with such blatant disregard in my own hometown! . Personally I may have experienced racism at its finest, as I was the only one in the room darker toned. Never ordering from here and WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO...

This is unfortunately an update. Proir to the reopening as Vecchia Nuova they were easily a five star review. Sadly, the new restaurant does not live up to its namesake. We ordered 3 apps Calamari, arancini, and asparagus. We also ordered a Regina pizza. Firstly, the calamari. It was extremely dry and SUPER salty. It was supposed to have a lemon aioli that was missing, when we mentioned it to a passing server (not our main server) she said oh I'm sorry and left with not attempt to rectify the situation. The arancini was cooked well, however, it was absolutely bland, no flavor at all. Thirdly our pizza, the crust was not cooked all the way through. The flavor was good just gummy. The only thing decent through the whole evening was the asparagus. When our server came around she asked how everything was. We told her our disappointment and she said thank you for letting us know that and they have been getting those complaints a lot recently. Unless something changes I will not be back which is unfortunate because we...

We stopped here for dinner when we were out in Phoenixville. We had a bigger group and had to wait a bit for a table. It's a really tiny restaurant, so there aren't many tables. We got a Regina Margherita pizza and a Capricciosa pizza. I also tried a slice of the Cavaccino pizza. Of the three, the Regina Margherita and the Cavaccino were both really good. I wasn't a big fan of the Capricciosa. I probably would have given this 5 stars, but the service was really bad. When they took our orders, they completely skipped someone in our party. When they brought out the food, they skipped another person and hadn't even put in the order yet. Then when we tried to pay, it took forever for them to take our checks. Overall, I really enjoyed the food, the service just wasn't good at all.

Well, first off $30.00 for the tiny pizza you see in the photo. Oh yes this is pepperoni $7 extra and extra cheese! I feel ripped off right there. The flavor is perfect. But that is in Noway $7 worth of pepperoni! Or extra cheese.I put a fork next to the picture for sizeability. I must say I will definitely order there again. The flavor and the crust are outstanding! 5 stars for flavor had to subtract for value of the dollar..sorry. I hope this helps with just so you know how much you will need to order. The are calling this one a 12 inch. The flavor is worth it for a treat, can't do it for an every time. $$$

Delicious Neapolitan Margherita pizza! The balls of fresh mozzarella cheese, sweet tomato sauce on a pillowy pizza topped with basil and baked to perfection in a wood-fired oven is divine. The individual size is big enough to share along with a salad or an app or you can conquer it on your own! I wasn't a big fan of the Eggplant Parm appetizer and threw in the towel 1/2 way. It was bitter and didn't taste very fresh. Looking forward to coming back for the Margherita pizza when I'm in town to see my parents!
