A big city feel in a small town setting. I say that because in my travels I've seen coffee shops that TRY to replicate a place such as this in many big cities. Think of any small coffee shop in Midtown Atlanta or Decatur. But UniquExpressions pulls it off because of 1 simple trait: it embodies that small town feel that instantly makes you feel at home when home is 2 hours away. Before you make it to the counter you're instantly met with mismatched furniture, well worn leather couches bordering old coffee tables with magazines sprawled out, racks of cute and colorful womens tops and dresses. There are even a few cafeteria booths. Off to the right are unique (see the theme?) gifts and crafts next to the coffee bar. When you make it to the counter the gentleman there is friendly and prompt. The menu is small and concise. But that's all you need. The hooligan is their breakfast burrito that is PERFECT before a long hike in FDR Park. This places oozes a quaint, cozy, and welcoming ambience. We trekked to Pine Mountain to enjoy a hike in the FDR, but stopped in town first only to discover over this wonderful little shop and eatery right along the main drag. We met the owner who explained how she expanded her gift shop to include an eatery nearly 20 years ago, and has enjoy a steady stream of traffic from locals and visitors ever since. The menu is simple and tasty with some nice options that include salads, sandwiches, wraps, and pizza, and an espresso bar with pastries. Counter service is prompt and friendly, though there may be a wait. This place is popular! Seating is electric and spread throughout the shop making for a present and unique environment to enjoy your meal and take in some local color. Discovered this little hidden gem while visiting the area during a vacation back in October of 2021. Returned to Pine Mountain a little over a week ago to meet up with some friends for a few days and visit the Fantasy In Lights display at Callaway Gardens. Unique Expressions is a must visit while in town. Delicious sandwiches (paninis), cookies, scones, etc. are available. And don't miss out on the incredible cinnamon rolls they have. We were lucky enough to be staying in a cottage within a couple blocks of this shop and made several trips up there during the week. Owner and staff are welcoming and friendly.
