Went here yesterday for the very first time because Chipley's Chicken was closed. The service was ok. We constantly had to ask for napkins. The food was ok. Well some of it. We had the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were very tasty the grits could have been better. We also had the fish and grits. The fish lacked in flavor but it was fried well. My son had the mild wings and mac and cheese. The wings were awful!! The mac and cheese was very tasty! My mother had the Philly cheese steak and fries. The Philly and fries were really good. My daughter had the cheeseburger and fries. The cheese burger although was tasty it was a bit undercooked. I wish they would have ask us how we would like our burger prepared. This place is a bit expensive. Our waitress was kinda friendly. The other server was rude! Slinder black lady with a horrible attitude. Watch out for her! Overall, we will not be returning. Ok food, underwhelming customer service and a bit pricey to sum it all up.
Updated review **Replying to the owner. Well I was your customer! That was ridiculous to say "Our customers" I was your customer that day and the food was what it was! Some was tasty and some wasn't! And with a response like that, that is why I will not be returning! You must be the black slinder waitress? BUYER'S BEWARE!!! My review is true in all aspect! If you want to give them a try go for it but I personally will never return! And you should ask YOUR customers how they want their burger prepared, and not just assume that a 12 year old child would like to eat her food raw!!! Also Chipley's Chicken is MUCH cheaper that Eatz On The Corner. They also have better customer...
Read moreThis was my second time eating at this establishment. The first time was a group of cousins having a great time with each other so we really didn't pay much attention to much of nothing. This time was much quieter as it was me and my husband on a quick getaway for our anniversary. So a few things will keep us from coming back to this establishment. First the portions left us unfulfilled for the price (still hungry) but the server/waitress didn't ask if we wanted dessert, refills a slap in tue face nothing. Brought the check. 2nd I didn't know the price of my meal until I got the check as the menu says market value - paid 24$ for two grouper filets. I had to assume this right because I ate them. I personally don't like that. The market value is what you pay , the menu is what i pay unless you are going to weigh it in front of me. 3rd- the receipt comes already pre-charged for the credit card fees per item so where the grouper was $24, the receipt said 24.96 and so on so on. I did ask the waitress and she indeed said it was the credit card fees and if i was paying cash (when brought the check did not ask if I was paying cash or card-not unheard of but) I could get it adjust but I would have to come to the register not her going to take it off but me coming to the register. I didn't want to go through all of that because they were full at this point and it is quaint and intimate in there. I just had a lot of questions and it took away from my experience. I will say my fried okra was great. Do try this restaurant but be knowledgeable about how they operate and you...
Read moreUPDATE!! Had a friend who was celebrating a birthday, decided to take her here the very next day after our first visit. Had the curry chicken this time. Was wonderful and a huge portion! My wife and our friend tried the salmon. It was outstanding. Glazed with their calypso sauce, it looked as good as it tasted. Don't usually visit the same place two days in a row but this was a great idea. Really looking froward to some of the lunch specials they have including the collards and mac & cheese!
Have seen this place several times passing through and not stopped.....what a mistake. The food here is awesome. Had conch fritters for an appetizer and they were fresh, hot, and delicious. The dipping sauce is killer! I had a burgers that was loaded with ingredients....and grilled pineapple! Could only eat half but it was great! Wife had the grouper plate and was really happy with that choice. Three filets with it and a delightful coleslaw with a Caribbean twist....a hint of pineapple in it, we will definitely be back. Our server was great and made some suggestions for us to try. We even had some home made Key Lime pie that was wonderful. Hope this place is as good on our next visit, which will be soon. they do have lunch specials also but we were there for dinner. Oh yeah....we discovered that they not only have outdoor seating in front on the sidewalk with a nest view of the town, but an outdoor area in the rear of the...
