If I could give this place a zero I would! It was my second time there ( because my friend liked it and it was close to my job). I was on my lunch break and I had an hour and 20 minutes. When I walked in the hostess asked if I had reservations, I told her I didn’t know I needed one. She explained that it was better if I had one but seeing that the place was empty she would seat me. She asked If I was waiting for someone and I told her my friend was parking her car and walking over. She then asked me to wait outside until she arrived. I am 9 months pregnant and I looked 9 months pregnant with nowhere to sit outside but to stand in the heat. When my friend finally came we sat and the waiter came to our table. I told him from the get go that i was on my lunch break and I knew what I wanted. We ordered right away. He then decided to go to the next table and get their drink orders and appetizers( it was a table of 5 people). 30 minutes passed and all we had were our waters. The lemonade I had asked for wasn’t even served. I finally got his attention and he said to give him a minute. My friend got her soup shortly after and another 20 minutes passed. I called his attention again( I would have done it sooner but he was lost) and I told him my order (shrimp with noodles) and asked why it was taking so long. He went to check on my order and informed me that he only heard me order the noodles, so I told him to just bring the noodles and forget the shrimp. He told me that he couldn’t because he had already placed the new order. I asked how long it would take cus now I had to leave. He stated that he had to ask the manager. When he returned he told me that the manager said that my order would most probably take longer so I should just cancel the order and go. I looked at him in shock, “I have to eat something and I don’t have time to go get something to eat somewhere else, could it just be prepared to go?” He once again went to check. He came back and said that it would be ready in 10 minutes to go. After 10 minutes exact, the food came out in a to go box. THERE WERE 3 SHRIMPS ON TOP OF THE NOODLES! I waited 30 minutes for 3 SHRIMP! And they charged me for the lunch! I walked out speechless. NEVER NEVER NEVER had I had such a careless...

The most horrendous experience we have ever had here. We arrived at 5:35 hoping to beat the dinner rush, no reservation. We understood there may be a wait but my husband and I truly wanted to come because we (used to) love this place. After waiting 15 mins to be acknowledged by someone, we were told it would be most likely a 1 to 1-1/2 hour wait. Well, we still really wanted to eat here so we went, ran an errand, came back. Proceeded to wait 2-1/2 HOURS?! (Why did we stick around? Well, not sure, maybe we’re dumb) but we were at least hoping we’d have a good meal and service as we usually do. As soon as we’re sat, 10 mins to get someone’s attention, and after realizing that the waiter assigned to our area took about 20 mins to get one table their check, we had our beers and left. A total of almost 3 hours to get a beer. I can’t convey my disappointment, this place was so wonderful not 6 months ago and our experience today was so different. I don’t know if it was a fluke, I don’t know if they had walkouts or systems were down but wow. Please please, take my advice Gyu - number one, the outdoor area you have is absolutely WASTED. Outdoor furniture, a nice patio, you should have working fans and drink service out there to alleviate wait time frustration (and make a buck). Additionally, service seemed so so so so disorganized. Your general manager looked like a chicken running around with his head cut off, I felt bad for him. One moment he’s taking names, another he’s getting grates, another he’s singing happy birthday, next he’s getting s’mores and then organizing tables with staff. It is an ABSOLUTE mess. Get this guy an assistant head of house manager or something - it’s ridiculous. Some of your staff seemed honestly like they were being tortured. It might be the situation they’re in, might be the pay, might be the fact that they just aren’t good at their job but everything was a mess from the top down. It is a shame because the run off foot traffic from Flannigans probably sends a lot of people your way and you guys could be doing so...

Been coming here for years and last night was the worst time i’ve ever had eating out. They have a great sukiyaki bimbap(beef fried rice) But the service from the waiter Hergio was horrible. I’m a waiter myself and very understanding and generous with tipping. Like I said they have a great fried rice so I order 2 orders of sukiyaki bimbap for myself and the 58$ ayce (all you can eat) for my girlfriend since she was very hungry. When i ordered my fried rice i order one of them with added spicy jalepeno miso but Hergio forgot it to make one of them spicy but it’s ok I get it im a waiter too, so i ask for the spicy orange powder and he said he’ll bring it but never did. Everything was going great until i asked for my bill. The bill took forever to come and when it did he charged me for an extra ayce (all you can eat(58$)) when all i had was fried rice. He put an automatic tip of 25$ when we were only a table of 2 and we were an easy table no mess and all the time i’ve been coming here they never put the tip automatically. When i asked him why he charged me for another ayce Hergio said that if one person orders ayce then it’s for the whole table and when i asked him about the automatic tip he said that it’s the system. I’m a waiter and I know everytime the tip is added to your bill it’s because the waiter manually put it on themselves. I know this because im a waiter and there’s no such thing as a system that automatically puts a tip onto the bill that the waiter cannot remove. It’s really a shame because I really liked this place and i feel like Hergio straight up robbed me because I ordered 2 fried rices totaling 25$ and my girlfriends ayce which was 58$ so let’s say the bill supposed to be 88$ after tax. I would’ve tipped Hergio 20$ even though he gave lousy service. Bill was 172$ after the 25$...

I dined at Gyu-kaku Orlando before and loved it, so I decided to give this Kendall location a try. It is sadden to write this, but as soon as my family and I walked in and were seated, the sewage smell kept coming our way. It was quite unbearable, so we asked to sit at the outdoor table. We tried to brush it off and tried to enjoy the meal. The second encounter was the menu, we were told that they only offered Mother's Day menu, and we can only order selected a la carte as an add-on. Again, I dined at Gyu-kaku before in Orlando, and they offered both a special course menu and a regular menu. I believe customers should be able to select from both menus because not everyone likes what is being offered on the fixed course menu. The most letdown is the quality of the food. Starting from the grill, it was already black before we started grilling. Miso soup was a watered-down version of normal miso soup. Marinated beef lacked flavors. Dipping sauce was also watered-down. The rice was not Japanese rice. We grilled the meat as cooked as it could get to mask its flavorless taste and showered it with soy sauce because it was something we paid for. I am not writing all this to be mean, but the food needs serious improvements. It is not even meeting the par of the Gyu-kaku brand.

I have loved this place since it was quite new, but now I must say the quality in the bimbap rice has plummeted. Very little rice compared to before, filled with scallions and onions, the egg removed and barely any meat to be found. It's like I ordered the garlic fried rice but honestly, even that one doesnt come with an egg anymore. The rice isn't as crunchy as it used to be when it stuck to the bowl. The other thing is, I ordered some food to go and unlike usual where I cook the meat and take it with me, they brought it to me all done. I was happy about it at first until I got home and realized what a mistake it was. I ordered 3 servings of one meat and 2 servings of another. What I recieved was 1 serving of one meat and 2 servings of the other, missing 2 servings of what i paid for. The only reason why it looked so full was due to them putting a bunch of white rice (I did not order) underneath to make it seem full. Truly, I don't know if I'll be able to continue coming here. It gets more expensive but the quality is lowering. Your employees are still as lovely as ever and the restaurant is clean and beautiful, it truly is just a shame because I loved this place and recommended it to so many.
