Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Pinellas Park

I order pizza from here frequently and have been a long time customer(since I was very young). Ordered a pizza at 12:07am. Was told 40-45 mins. Awesome. 1:20am rolls around...no pizza. Called and was told they were closed. I informed them I have not received my pizza. The guy told me the delivery driver just left 5 minutes ago (what?) and it should be there any minute. So we waited until 2am and noticed that they already charged my card so I called back and no one picked up. Finally gave up and went to bed sad at 2:30am. Called back at 11am today to ask what happened to my pizza and to get my card refunded. Waited on hold for 5 minutes then received an explanation of "well I have a signed receipt with a $5 tip on it". No "I'm sorry for what happened." Just an automatic assumption that I am lying and/or no care at all if the right person got the pizza just that it made it out their door and some person signed the receipt. I told them that in no way did that pizza make it into my house or my mouth last night. The man on the phone continued on with his "well I have a signed receipt" and informed me that I would have to contest the charge with my credit card company. So not only did they deliver the pizza (I'm guessing) to the wrong house and charge my card, they expected me to clean up the mess they created. I have had issues here before (wrong pizza delivered to me, was fixed promptly) but this....this is unbelieveable. And on top of everything I didn't get any damn pizza and got to sit on hold with my credit card company for 20 minutes on my Saturday morning. This is how you lose loyal customers....

Can I just say that I am thrilled to be moving soon? If for no other reason than this won't be the closest Hungry Howies?

I dont know about the day staff, but the night staff is absolutely horrid. They sound bored on the phone, they're nasty when you go - no hello or smiles or anything other than "Name?" to pull up your order. And let me tell you, they watch to see how well you tip.

Small sub the other day - picked up so all they had to do was make it. I left $2 tip and the girl behind the counter scoffed and rolled her eyes. Too bad I had signed it or I would have scratched even that out. Every time I go here they're rude. And heaven help you if you want a manager for anything.

I had three charges on my card, apparently their website was having problems so I had to call. Unfortunately I gave my card number over the phone. Not only was I charged a tip I didn't approve of, the three extra charges remained on my account. I called to talk to the manager and he was nothing but rude. I told him what had happened and that these charges weren't supposed to be there. His response? First he argued with me. Then he said he would just refund the whole damn thing. A week later and I contested it with my bank because the charges remained and I did not want to deal with his rudeness.

The food is alright, but you might want to check out papa John's or dominos if you can. If only because they're actually decent humans with some semblance of a pleasant...

This is MY FAVORITE HOWIE'S IN PINELLAS COUNTY !! I WILL DRIVE OUT OF MY WAY TO GET FOOD FROM HERE !!

Pinellas Park Howie's makes their subs RIGHT ... nice and FAT with some extra 'bread' ... And pepperoncinis 😊 As far as I'm concerned, THEY make the food CORRECTLY ... I've even TAKEN their completed food to ANOTHER LOCATION to show that staff how the subs are SUPPOSED to look ... It's called UNIFORM ... You should get the same product from every place. Unfortunately, you don't. Some places chince out on their ingredient amounts. The Pinellas Park Howie's DOES NOT. I am ALWAYS HAPPY when I leave there with a sub. That 'customer service' is important to me. I never have to worry about getting value for my money here.

Again, I WILL go out of my way to go here for my Wednesday subs. I have yet to find another location that makes the subs like Pinellas Park. I've heard complaints from other people about other locations. I tell EVERYONE to patronize the Pinellas Park location, as it is the BEST Hungry Howie's in...
