A new restaurant usually has excited employees ready and wanting to do a great job. Not so with this place... Bad, bad, bad, bad all around from the kitchen to the front. --EVERY table was dirty and full of dishes and that remained through our entire visit. --We sat in our booth for 20 minutes before anyone even looked at us. What's worse is that there was only 3 tables, including ours, which had guests. --We sat next to a very patient and nice family who waited just as long to order and longer to receive their IMPROPER order. The manager also denied the mom a children's size burger. Said only kids under 8 can order that. The mom wasn't very hungry and was watching her diet. --The cook was rude to other employees and very errogant as well. Lousy communication between everyone in the store. --The servers were teaming up on to go orders while everyone in the dining room was ignored and overlooked. --I timed the food in the pickup window... up to 20 minutes for waffles and fries. Who does that? 20 minutes? Those waffles and fries went back to the kitchen as soon as the plate landed in front of the patron. --On to our order... Had hair in two of three plates. --The hash rows were a mixture of blackwned and burned and under cooked potatoes. --My son's burger tasted like the meat was spoiled and it smelled horrible. --Our fries were lousy. Cold and undercooked. --Cold white gravy for country fried steak. Tasted really off too. --Waffles were brown. They were so over cooked that you could hold it like a plate. --Special requests... No cheese, no butter, well done, etc were all ignored and we were served without those special requests. --Both restrooms were disgusting and the odor was present just outside of the restroom. --Keep in mind that while all this is happening only one server stayed busy while the other (four) hung out with the kitchen staff outside smoking cigarettes and playing on their phones. We were at the restaurant for an hour and half and the employees only showed up twice to refill their drinks and back outside they went to laugh and smoke. I'm a business owner who takes pride in my product and services which my team provides. There is not one employee at this location I'd hire for any role. Low quality product, low quality service and absolutely ineffective management and supervision. I've not ever seen a new store open without super excited employees with get 'er done attitudes just waiting for the opportunity to show their new skills and product the customers. That is where success comes from and this place is hurting in all of the above areas. It's like the new location team swooped in and dropped their version of the information required to open and run a store and briskly and swiftly headed to the next location opening. And as soon as they left the local operating team swept all that quickly dropped info aside to just to work as individuals and not a team. THIS PKACE IS IN BIG TROUBLE UPPER MANAGEMENT. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE HERE SOON OR HUDDLE HOUSE IS GOING TO SLIP (BACK) INTO THE DEPTHS OF LIQUIDATION. GOOD LUCK FRSNCHISEE. YOUVE GOT YOUR WORK CUT...
Read more(The Pinson, Al location) THE WORST LOCATION TO EAT AT. I give this location NO stars at all had to put 1 to post this review. We were so excited about having this restaurant in our community but the service and food is very awful. We visited this huddle house about 5 times with a problem every time we were there. We totally understand it’s a new location and they have to work out the kinks. However, on our first Togo order they left off our drinks and I reminded her and she never brought me my drinks so we decided to leave. Our 2nd time there we ordered the bowls with extra toppings and didn’t receive it. Oh boy! We thought the 3rd time was the charm they forgot my waffle that I ordered extra on side and we heard our waitress ask for it several of times so we just told her never mind about it. On our 4th time we didn’t even make it into the restaurant because there were several customers waiting outside to be seated for 45mins and they were told later it would be a 1hour wait after waiting 45mins already, they also said they encounter problems as well on our brief chat, so we left and went somewhere else. The 5th time my husband went alone and he ask for extra toppings, once he received his food he didn’t have peppers at all, he only had 5 diced tomatoes only (one spoon scoop) even his waiter said it wasn’t extra so He talked to the manager Jamie Sims and she was very rude she told him she put 2 scoops of tomatoes on his food and she said he had to pay for it and she wasn’t taking it off. She had a whole back and fourth conversation with a customer in front of a lot of other customers. She also said that she would go into the data and see who cooked our food before and gave us extra but we paid for it. I’ve worked in customer service for 20 years and the customers happiness is what’s important. This review is to get nothing for free it’s only to warn the other customers on what’s going on. I really hope this problem gets resolved soon because I don’t see it continuing business with the service that’s being provided. We will not be returning that was the last straw for us and I would never recommend anyone...
Read moreI wish I could give less than one star, or even negative stars, but that is not an option. My husband and I stopped in for dinner last night after a long flight home. I just wanted some good scrambled eggs and a waffle.
Upon walking into the restaurant, the cook was sitting in a booth in the middle of the playing on his cell phone, and the waitress was laying down in a booth over to the right, talking loudly on her phone. While my husband went to the bathroom, I stood there looking back and forth between the two of them, who neither one looked up, said hello, or stopped what they were doing.
There were dirty tables, and other things I'm sure the two of them could have been doing. Or at least paying attention to see if a customer came in the door.
I finally sat down just to see what would happen. The cook walked over to the server and told her she had a customer. He had to tell her twice because she didn't hear him the first time. She then continued to talk on her phone, telling the person she had a customer, but the conversation still went on another two or three minutes.
She came over and said, "My bad, I didn't see you come in". (Really?!?) She got our drinks, and came back to take our order. Meanwhile, the cook is still sitting in his booth scrolling on his phone. When she put the order in the computer, and the printer started spitting the order out in the kitchen area, the cook finally got up and went over to retrieve our order. I was really paying attention to see what would happen next, because something told me that something wasn't right.
After the cook got our order off the printer, he rubbed his nose and mouth area with his hand. He never washed his hands and never put on gloves!!! He proceeded to pick up some bacon with is bare (unwashed) hands and started putting it on the grill. I wish I had gotten a picture, but all of this really happened.
At that point, my husband and I got up and walked out and told the waitress on the way out the door that she could cancel our order and told her all the reasons why.
I do not recommend this location of Huddle...
