Typically, I don't do this sort of thing because my family owns a restaurant that I manage as well as serve and cook at, but the service was so bad that I can't refrain. I'll start off by saying they were not busy by any means. Each server (2) only had 3 tables (1/3 of the available tables) the entire time we were there. We walked in and weren't greeted, but all staff members even those who were just dilly-dallying made eye contact with us. This usually wouldn't bother me too bad, but we stood there for almost 10 minutes without acknowledgement. Then, the manager seats us. Our waitress was quick to get our drinks, but didn't ask if we were ready to order. She just dropped them off and left. Initially, I thought she had food to run. Nope. Came out to wipe off 3 tables that already looked clean and were, clearly, not needed right away because no one sat at them the entire time we were there. She finally came and got our order. We had to ask for our bread and slaw after she brought our meals, which is normally brought out first. And she forgot one of our soups. The table behind us had to keep getting up to get another staff member to find the same waitress. Then, the topping on the cake was when I went to pay and there were 4 staff members gathered around the manager just gabbing (I could hear the conversation) and the only staff member who would make eye contact with me aside from the gabber, dipped out and hid behind a wall. So, I was done waiting and being ignored. I slammed my money and bill down, gathered my son, and walked out. Of course the girl hiding behind the wall popped her out immediately to make sure there was enough money there. To our server, I'm sorry you only got a $1 tip, but no one would cash me out so I could get change for your tip and you were far from deserving a 33% tip. I know you don't want me back and don't worry, I...
Read moreI hate to even have to do this review, because I really love Bob Evans. But, I believe this is worth mentioning. Today is April 29th, 2023. My husband and I are celebrating our one year anniversary this weekend, and decided that we were going to have dinner at Bob's. We were thrilled when we pulled in and saw they weren't very busy, because this was around 5:30 on a Saturday and we figured they would be. Got right in, got seated... and that was it. There were maybe 5 other tables with people on the north side where we were seated. We sat there for around 25 minutes, watching as every other table was waited on multiple times each. We were never approached once. We never had anyone even bother to say, "I'm sorry, I'll be with you in a few minutes,"..... nothing. We left. Left the menus right there on the table, and walked out. This is our first anniversary. My husband just got out of the hospital after 10 days, we didn't even know if we would be able to celebrate our anniversary. He just got a pretty serious diagnosis that has completely changed our lives in many ways. There were 2 waitresses in our area multiple times during the time we sat there. Not once, did either of them even look at us. They had everyone seated in the same corner of the restaurant, so it's not like they couldn't see us. We are good tippers. We start at a set amount, which is already a nice number, and as we have dinner, we add to it based on different things. We also leave little cards with encouragement, little gifts.... as disappointed as we were this evening with the staff totally dropping the ball, I will say, we aren't the ones who missed out. We went somewhere else, were served right away, had a great night, and whoever our server should've been at Bob's is the one...
Read more11/01/22: Only reason for two stars is the waitress Jaylin, she was trying to manage way too much on her own, she was doing her best with everyone, she was even pleasant, the only waitress! It took a while to order, I ordered unsweet tea with no ice, no lemon, got ice, Jaylin caught it, then brought the 2nd one, it was sweet tea, she took it back. Then I noticed silverware was dirty, 2 out of 3 pcs. (2nd set was dirty too, same black specks on them, ugh)! Ordered 1 pumpkin bread, 1 dinner roll with strawberry jam, as usually you can get 2 of choice and/or refills. I was tempted to just pay for tea & leave. The food finally came out, after about 30 minutes, only had tea until then. First thing I thought, is this a joke, the edge of plate had whipped topping & pie filling on it, the gravy was ALL over very sloppily on edges, etc. Chicken not as tender as should be. I was not happy. Poor Jaylin was trying to get everyone taken care of, I noticed everyone was waiting forever for their food. I decided it's my own fault after going to Troy last week & having a bad experience as well. When I got to the register Samantha asked if everything was ok, I said no it wasn't! While she asked why, I wasn't going to go down the list, by then, I needed to get back home, so I mentioned the messy plate. She said she'd take the pie off or some comment, I said I didn't order pie, that's when I realized I was charged extra for the pumpkin bread, she took it off and gave me a 1.66 credit off the meal. I guess that was fine, I won't be back anyway! She said they had new employee(s) training & that it's under new management, really? These places that cut way back on employees are determining their future staying in business at the same time...
