Well I don't know where to start so many people were raving about the new Aiello's and Shaler Township at the bottom of Birch Hill Road so I had to try it the first thing that caught me off guard was the price I wanted a large pizza but I ordered a small because of the price and it was basically $19 for a two topping small pizza the sauce was bitter the crust hurt your teeth the pepperoni was that cheap parchment paper pepperoni that everybody uses and the green olives were clumped together like somebody just took their fingers pinched them and drop them honestly if I had to compare them to any other pizza shop in the area I would say they were by far my worst Pizza experience certainly you'll have to try it for yourself everybody else may have different tastes but I highly recommend starting out with a small because a large pizza with a couple Toppings is going to cost you close to $30 the overpowering flavor in the sauce was oregano who puts that much oregano and pizza sauce maybe basil but not oregano I can't speak of anything other than the pizza but I can tell you that it's at the bottom of my list of pizza shops in the route 8 area my favorite pizza shop is the little known Parkside Grill Bakerstown North on Route 8 that is my number one choice compared to any other shop in the area that's including many of us and aiellos. I've added a few pictures to illustrate the lack of cheese and the messy distribution and sparse distribution of cheap toppings canned green olives and run-of-the-mill pepperoni there was nothing on this pizza that tasted remotely good to me the last picture that you see posted is not an ilo's Pizza but a Parkside Grill Bakerstown on Route 8 give them a try plenty of cheese a true hard pepperoni that you will not be disappointed in and their prices are amazing as well as the rest of their food

Best Pittsburgh style pizza in Squirrel Hill. It's always cooked well. The not to much cheese, the right amount of time in the oven, and the right amount of toppings. Their pizza dough is so good. I don't think I've eaten such a delicious crust! The people are so kind as well. They always greet you. Their restaurant is clean and welcoming, even during the pandemic. Oh yeah, I'm not a fan of Hawaiian pizza, but my husband loves it so I get it. We ordered it this past weekend from Aiello's and I enjoyed it a lot! Using bacon and canadian bacon did the trick 👌

Really good pizza but the pepperoni rolls are the best part of the food at this place they're awesome and they're huge and they're only a few bucks. they also have a really nice selection of beers on tap and a huge case of beers by the can that are relatively cheap if you want somewhere to sit and hang out and have a drink. I believe that they just also added wine by the tap. there is a happy hour in the early afternoon 4 to 6 and yinglings and other draft beers are super cheap during that time.

Everyone always told me Mineos was the best pizza in Squirrel Hill, and I believed them until one day I as exposed to Aiellos. I never went back to Mineos and for good reason. After having Aiellos, the pizza from Mineos was too tame for my taste. The dough never crunched right and the sauce didn't have the tang and flavor that is signature in Aiellos pizza. Every time I go to Aiellos I leave satisfied and the drive back is excruciating with having to wait to eat the fresh hot pizza.

Some of the chief complaints I've heard with Aiellos is that they do not do delivery and they are cash only. Fair enough, but that does not take away from their excellent food and those that want the pizza usually live within walking distance or an easy drive. Its a small price to pay to get some of the best pizza in Pennsylvania. As for the cash, for me I always carry some cash on me in case of emergencies so I never found it to be a problem and again it's a minor inconvenience since they provide an ATM in store in case you forgot.

Overall, Aiello's is the best pizza I've gotten in Pennsylvania and I hazard to say best in the U.S. Highly recommend and will continue to go. RIP Joey your sons carry...

I will start off by saying this. I been going to this place since middle school. Plus, once I started going to allderdice, It was a lot more lol Joe would be rolling over in his grave if he seen the way some of these kids run his shop... Sad, I swear. I got an extra large pizza and it was only a large dough stretched out to make a extra large. Plus to top it off, they only gave me the amount of toppings that would be on a medium pizza!! I love this place but it's going down hill and it's sad to see this happening to a place that so many people from and around Pittsburgh love and take the drive to pick up pizza from other parts of the area. If I was some of you that live a little further away from the Squirrel hill that take the drive in to grab it. Might be a wise decision to stick with your favorite place that is close to home first. I suggest that whoever is running the shop these days?? Please remember that this place has a long tradition and you're slowly losing loyal people that have been coming to Joe's pizza shop for decades. Get it together guys! You guys can do better and...
