UPDATE:
I'm impressed: after I posted my review on Google, a representative contacted me to learn more about my experience. After explaining what happened, they acknowledged my feedback and (admittedly) offered me a credit on a future order. I'm glad that someone was willing to listen to my experience and assure me that they would use it as a means to improve; their willingness to offer a credit was so far above and beyond my expectations, and I'm very grateful. I'm optimistic about continuing my relationship with Benny Fierro's in the future.
TL;DR: I scheduled a delivery DAYS in advance. It never came.
I scheduled an Uber Eats order two days ago for delivery during the Super Bowl. Saturday evening, I got a notification that they hadn't accepted my order. I called the store, and they said it was just a glitch with their tablet -- but that if I resubmitted my order, it would be no problem. So I did.
On Sunday evening, my scheduled delivery time came and went -- no pizza. I got another notification that my order wasn't accepted. And when I tried calling the shop, nobody would pick up the phone!
I'm beyond frustrated. Benny Fierro's has the BEST pizza in Pittsburgh, but this customer experience really left a rotten taste...
Read moreHoly pizza crust! We went to this neighborhood to eat at another establishment in between sessions of the NCAA Wrestling Championships but decided to try this out because of the long wait at the other place. My feelings are not hurt about it one bit because it satisfied my constant yen for authentic New York style pizza that I can't get in my hometown. I'm quite certain it's the biggest slice of pie I've ever eaten, even in NYC, and I enjoyed every bite. My should-know-better was immediately vetoed by the siren call of the hot gooey cheese, for which the roof of my mouth will pay the rest of the weekend. Worth it? 100%. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy. And the crust at the end? Well, we call those pizza bones because our dogs love them so much and this was legitimately the size of the actual dog bones we give them. I felt a little guilty eating it myself but only a little because my dogs are at home halfway across the country. We will be returning to Pittsburgh late summer. Will I be making a second stop at Primanti Brothers? Nope but Benny Fierro's will definitely be on my...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of Benny's for years, always counting on them to be open late on Thursdays when many other places aren't. However, my recent experience was incredibly disappointing.
As part of my usual late night Thursday routine, I stopped by to get something to eat at 10:32, knowing that they are open until midnight. To my dismay, they had posted a sign on the door saying they were closing at 10:30 PM.
I'm not kidding when I say that I go to Benny's so frequently on Thursdays for late dinner that my Uber app has their address saved, second only to my home. Randomly changing hours is unacceptable for people whom don't have a lot of late night options. As loyal customers, we expect better communication and reliability. If they can't be bothered to stick to their posted hours, then I can't trust them with my business anymore.
I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their reliability in the future. Until then, I will be taking our...
