Worst coffee shop experience ever. From the moment I stepped in, I felt very unwelcome. The guy at the counter was rude and condescending, and clearly did not want to help me. Wouldn't even make eye contact.
I ordered a pour over coffee because that's my favorite way to make coffee, and this guy pointed and said we have drip coffee there. I looked at him and stated clearly that had asked for pour over. I had heard good things about the pastries, so I looked at the selection and the guy looked annoyed and asked if I wanted anything else. I ordered a croissant. He punched it in, motioned towards the card reader, and said "there".
I paid, but I was fuming. He gave me my pastry and I sat to wait for my drink. Customers came in after me and he was noticeably kinder to them. After a bit, I noticed he had not announced my drink being done. I looked and noticed a cup on the end of counter. I walked up and asked if it was mine. He got all snappy again and said "that's yours" before turning back to whatever he was doing.
I had heard this was an amazing café from friends and was super excited to finally visit, but this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. There is absolutely no reason for a first-time visitor to be treated like scum. I will never...
Read moreAmazing coffee, though maybe THE most expensive coffee I've ever had anywhere in the world. $8.56 for a medium pumpkin spice and $9.10 for a large (regular dairy, not counting tip). Crazy! Also, nowhere are these prices listed upfront; the most expensive drink on the board is a mocha, which is only $7.70 ...
Place is lovely, baristas are awesome, but it's always freezing so difficult to sit for long (maybe that's on purpose?) and also, at least three Sunday mornings I've shown up around 8 am and it's not open, without any explanation (even though it should be, according to their...
Read moreThe service was fine, the staff were nice and friendly, open to explaining the menu. However, their mars Panini was quite disappointing and frankly, a bit of highway robbery for the small portions or 3 thin slices of ham, 3 very this slices of apple, and to utterly meager slices of the Bree on grocery store bread. Paying $16 for a traditional macchiato (an espresso shot with a small dollop of foam) and the panini is enough for me to have no desire to return. Come for the coffee and vibe, but the those...
