Mike at the front was a fantastic guide for first-timers, especially. Answered questions diffentively, and they can help to ensure you have a great experience here. The menu has a large degree of flexibility, and there are some off the menu options. Just ask to see what they come up with while you're there. The owner, Gary, is not only a great local guy but also genuinely cares that you have the experience that makes you want to come in again. I was encourage to get the brisket (warm juicy right amount of fat and smoke flavor and if you made it this far into this ask them about the Zack specialty sandwiche (I have not tried but will). Give it a try for lunch it's a winner @deli on butler's...

I ordered from Uber eats thought I would give them a try. The tutti hoagie was disgusting- the sandwich was sweet n sour which was terrible. The pickle that comes on the side tasted like chemicals or plastic. Tossed it. The bread was soggy cause they put what looks like balsamic vinegar on it. The onions were NOT fresh at all. The Red peppers was just too much. I didn’t get olives on it. The ingredients on Uber DOES NOT say there’s balsamic on it and that ruined the entire flavor. Highly disappointed. There’s nothing to do but rip that part off the sandwich off. I’ll stick with Carson St deli from now on.

Deli on Butler is a cool little neighborhood place to grab a quick and simple lunch. I ordered the wedding soup which was pretty good. I was disappointed with my sandwich though. I ordered the Marie, pastrami on rye with swiss, Cole slaw and deli sauce, warmed in a panini press. This is where the problem occurred. The bread was over toasted, basically burnt. After a few bites that burnt bread taste over powered my palate. I still gave them 4 stars because the staff (I believe the owner was working the counter and took my order) seemed honest and hardworking and I appreciated their warmth.

The owner is extremely kind, courteous and friendly. He was sitting in the back, doing some work on his laptop, and a salesman walked in. Unlike most business owners, He gave the guy his time and attention and was very friendly to him. Most Business owners don’t make time for that And just Say no, not interested and ask the person to leave. Says a lot about a business to have an owner that also was talking and friendly with the employees but gave a complete stranger the Time of day because he’s just trying to do his job. I had the Pasquale, the Wedding Soup and the Potato Salad (plus a Turner’s Tea - only tea to drink in Pittsburgh). All were extremely excellent, very delicious and the staff is very friendly as well. It was also very quick as well. Definitely recommend...

Wow!!! I never thought that a sandwich could create such emotions. My first bite of the Muffuletta was a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more. It transported me back to my short period of time I spent in Florence. The second bite was even better and drove me into a feeding frenzy and that Muffuletta was devoured faster than a watermelon thrown into a Hippos mouth. The young man that helped me out, I believe his name was Jake was so knowledgeable and helpful. Some would call him a deli connoisseur. Can't say enough good things about this deli. You pay for the amazing food and service but the memories that these sandwiches create...
