Party of 7 on a Tuesday night. The food was great, definitely have to make that the highlight of this review. We had the Brussels Sprouts appetizer and the Chicken Taco Egg rolls. Both are delicious and we wanted to order more. We each had a sandwich off the Handhelds menu and each of us were very satisfied with the food and sides (fries or side salad). For dessert we shared two slices of cheesecake which were each a generous portion and also delicious. Where Over Eden lost two stars was the lack of support from management for the service. Our waitress was amazing and friendly. She did the best she could with only one other waitress taking the other half of the restaurant (it’s not a big restaurant). What disappointed me was I saw two members of management, one looked like a front of house manager and the other was a bar manager (separate person from the bartender). They could have easily jumped in to help clear dirty dishes or ask if anyone needed refills on water or even bar drinks. I ordered a $15 margarita and would have gladly ordered a second but I was never asked and left to sip on water that was never refilled either. When the entrees came, we had stacks of appetizer plates that sat the entire meal. The front manager did help with bringing out entrees but never cleared any of the other plates. It wasn’t busy except for the two waitresses waiting on the whole place with managers who never helped them. They were too busy standing around telling them what to do rather than helping them. Same with the bar manager, he could have helped the bartender but was on his phone most of the time. I would also point out that a lot of the reviews here are regarding an older menu which was substantially larger and had more variety. The menu as of August 2024 is much smaller. We tipped the waitress well and can only hope the entire restaurant works together...
Read moreI’m not a person that typically writes a review but the utter disappointment from my time at Over Eden could not go unnoticed. My cousins were having a smallish get together for newly engaged couple and while I understand group gratuities. The restaurant was incapable of allowing the guests to pay for drinks and food separately while maintaining their party rate gratuity, they claimed they could only process one check which is hard to believe with todays technology in the service industry. And when people who came for a brief time wanted to just go to the bar to purchase drinks they were treated with a great deal of animosity and disrespect and denied service. In fact the server and bartender got so confrontational with multiple members of our group and even the manager stated she was not going to deal with this from “you people!” whatever that was referring to, hopefully not what I inferred it to mean. But at any rate the amount of people the group reserved for at the restaurant had an issue with providing enough seats for and continued to come and pester the attendees to move and pushed guests into a corner. Overall probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had out in the city in ages and I definitely will not be back nor will ever recommend this awful and demeaning establishment. I would really give them a 0/5 stars and hope that the entire staff works to improve overall quality...
Read moreBeautiful views of the city! We got right in without a reservation for post dinner drinks. There's a very limited menu, mostly snacking stuff. We ordered a trio of hummus with pita bread that was decent. We didn't park here but I hear that it's $10 ..valet parking only and its difficult to find parking anyways in Lawrenceville. Drinks are pretty pricey. I asked one of the bar-backs if we could get a few more drinks and she rudely told me "well you need to go to the BAR-TEN-DER" I mistakenly assumed she was one, but my bad.....she could've just said, "sure let me give these to the bartender" or "I have no idea what my role is here other than to look pretty and piss people off so go away" and I would have been happier. While leaving, there was a huge wait like almost out the door which seemed unnecessary/ artificially created as there were plenty of seating when we left... Overall, if you want a decent drink while enjoying the gorgeous view, this is the place, but don't expect much of anything else at this point. There's definitely many better options as far as food/drinks in that area and I have a feeling they will be struggling once the novelty of this place...
