A must-visit brunch gem! This breakfast & brunch café is an absolute delight, offering a dreamy menu of crêpes, waffles, and French toast in a cool, vintage-inspired setting. With locations in both Lawrenceville and Bloomfield, it’s quickly become one of my favorite spots. The Lawrenceville location is especially adorable—decorated with whimsical touches like Pinocchio dolls and books hanging from the ceiling. It’s cozy, quirky, and full of charm. The owner is truly the sweetest human, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’ve tried so many menu items and have been blown away by every single one. For savory options: The Bonjour savory crêpe is a perfect sweet-and-savory combo with two scrambled eggs and brie cheese wrapped in a crêpe, topped with applewood smoked bacon and maple syrup, and served with fresh fruit. The Sunny Side savory crêpe features two sunny-side-up eggs with turkey bacon, avocado, and grande mozzarella, served with a fresh side salad. The Croque Madame French toast is a total showstopper—sunny-side-up egg, Canadian ham, Gruyère cheese, and béchamel sauce layered on French toast. OMG, wow. The Prosciutto egg & cheese panini is packed with flavor: Italian prosciutto, a fried egg, honey aioli, and grande mozzarella. Say less. For sweets: The Raspberry Goat Cheese French Toast was a standout—French toast topped with raspberry compote and goat cheese, with whipped cream on the side. So dreamy. The Nutella Classic is a true classic: a homemade crêpe filled with Nutella and topped with fresh strawberries and bananas. The Dubai crêpe is decadent and unique—pistachio spread, kataifi, Nutella, and pistachio crumbles. So rich and satisfying. My favorite sweet might’ve been Le Pistache—made with pistachio spread, banana, and pistachio crumbles. Absolutely divine. And last but definitely not least, the Merry Berry waffle—a homemade waffle topped with seasonal fresh berries and Nutella. Pure happiness on a plate. Pair any of these with their house coffee, mocha, chai latte, or their brand-new pistachio latte. I also had a strawberry milkshake that totally hit the spot. If you're looking for incredible food, a unique and cozy atmosphere, and the kindest people running the place—this café is everything. Can’t...
Read moreVery very unique experience in this cafe! Not many places have books, puppets, and green foliage hanging from the ceiling, AND also serve amazing breakfast! 😍 If you are looking for good crêpes, like super good 😌, this is the place to go. With so many different varieties of crêpes and so many options for toppings, you really can’t go wrong with anything you order! Our order for DRINKS: 2 London fogs (one hot, one cold) Our order for BREAKFAST: the Geppetto signature (crêpe plate with sautéed caramelized apples, cream cheese glaze, and topped with cinnamon & caramel sauce 🤩🤩) and the Nutella Classic (obviously Nutella, strawberries, banana, and chocolate sauce! 😋) Both amazing choices! They are known for their signature crêpe plate because of those apples with the cream cheese glaze… yummmmm. And finally, our order for SIDES: eggs 🍳 and bacon 🥓👌 I will also add that I was very impressed with our server! She was very timely and attentive to us! 🤗 I would suggest going in the mornings when they open. That’s when we went, but by the time we were heading out they were getting pretty busy! Peep 👀 these photos for some yummy food, tasty drinks, and “It’s...
Read moreDespite its small size, the cafe's decor is eye-catching and well-themed. However, the main throughway of the establishment can be dauntingly tight, requiring diners to keep their heads on a swivel to avoid bumping into waitstaff and vice versa.
One of the standout offerings at Geppetto's Cafe is their Turkish coffee and espresso con panna. The Turkish coffee is made with unfiltered fine coffee that perfectly captures the bold bitter flavor of what Turkish coffee is known for. Meanwhile, the espresso con panna is delightfully strong and topped with a beautifully whipped cream.
I must say that the main course we had was quite underwhelming. The "sunny side crepe" lacked the creamy goodness of mozzarella, although the eggs were quite flavorful. Unfortunately, the turkey was sad and tasteless, leaving much to be desired. Overall, both meals were a pass.
However, as with every not-so-happy review, there is always room for redemption. Perhaps another visit down the road is in order to try their Turkish coffee and espresso con panna once again this time with another...
