Hello Bistro — Restaurant in Pittsburgh

I work for a company downtown and I'm in charge of ordering and selecting lunches for the employees. We normally do catering, so I was excited to find that Hello Bistro had a catering menu. When I looked at their menu I was confused to see that they had no sandwich trays, but I decided to give it a go though because many of the employees greatly enjoy a good salad and there was also soup. Now I made the catering reservations on a Friday for the following Tuesday; 2 Buffalo Chicken salads, 1 Greek Mediterranean Salad, 4 quarts of chicken noodle soup, and 3 quarts of potato soup. It was an easy enough order with ample time to prepare.

The day of, I requested that the interns getting the lunch ask to get one more quart of each of the soups that we ordered given the place had it to spare; aka one addition chicken noodle and one additional potato soup. When they return from grabbing it I noticed that the two additional soups were not chicken noodle or potato. One was clearly a chili and the other I came to find was their Tuscan Tomato Bean. Now this could have been an error on the intern's part or perhaps the interns were told that the place couldn't give us an additional quart of the soups requested but they could give us the other types, so they agreed. Regardless, we had more than enough soup so I wasn't overly concerned with that mix up.

The unfortunate part was that I quickly realized that Hello Bistro had not given us 2 Buffalo Chicken salads. Rather, they had given us 2 BBQ Chicken salads. They got the Greek salad right thankfully but, a few of the employees were disappointed that it was BBQ and not Buffalo. Everyone was very impressed with the potato soup and content with the salads despite the mix up.

We will give them another try, but I now know I'm going to have to have the interns double check what is given to us at the restaurant with...

I love salad. And being from N.Y. I'm used to seeing the by the pound salad bar. You never get a great salad paying by the pound unless you have splurge money. This place has lots of options. I chose the salad by you option and added a protein. The lovely lady who built the salad for me turned out to be only 3 days new to working there but had great attitude and customer service. She explained how things worked and built my salad with me. The type of greens was my choice too select. Field greens. Then the toppings were free to add on. I had Edemame, artichoke hearts, chick peas, quinoa, black beans, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, etc. So many options. I added salmon at the end. Then they had several choices for dressing. She let me try some to ensure I had the right one for my salad. Then when I thought we were done she takes my salad out of the bowl and chops the salad up into smaller bites while mixing the salad toppings and dressing together. Wow I didn't expect that at all. What a great touch. Every bite had a bit of something I chose. Plus the salad was so hearty I was able to get two meals out of it. I enjoyed it just as much the next time. Even though this was counter service the woman gave me great service and I tipped her. So if you're reading this...please tip people who are good at their job. It's only right. My only wish is that I had access to hello bistro in my side of the state. Thank you Pittsburgh...I enjoyed this...

NEVER ORDER FROM HERE This is the worst location . You will ALWAYS have an issue. I ordered here twice with terrible results. I love the salads from hello bistro but this location is awful.

First order- I ordered delivery through the Hello Bistro and was given a one hour time of delivery. I didn’t receive my food until 3 hours later. I called and asked about my order and they asked for a 4 digit code. I told them their app gives a 6 digit number. They said they won’t be able to find my order with the order number their own app gave me. They dont even understand their own ordering system. I did reach out to customer service and the did refund me.

Second order- I decided to give them a second chance. I ordered through DoorDash since their own employees suggested I would have a better experience. I ordered and they did not take special instructions and advised to call the restaurant directly. called them and asked for extra croutons. They asked what my requested pick up time was. I advised I ordered through DoorDash for delivery. They asked what was my requested time for DoorDash?!? I ordered a Romain salad with cheddar cheese and croutons with a request for extra croutons. What I got: Romaine salad with a ton of chicken when I did not order any protein and goat cheese when I asked for cheddar cheese. I initially thought maybe my door dasher grabbed the wrong bag.
