Great hotel/service with one catch- the “valet” service is shoddy and they use it to subsidize their low advertised rate
This hotel is absolutely on par with the good customer service and accommodation I have come to expect from Hilton hotels. Unfortunately, the parking situation had a significant negative impact on my stay. When I first arrive at the hotel I pulled into what seemed to be the only spot available to people looking to offload their luggage and check into the hotel. Although this was clearly labeled the valet lane, I was hoping I could idle there while I checked in. The valet attendant greeted me and assured me that the $25 per night valet option was the only option for parking in the immediate area and proceeded to add my rental car to the valet roster. I accepted this willingly, and although I was not interested in searching for other parking options when I checked in I was disappointed to see a cheaper parking location one block away from the hotel on the following morning. When I retrieved my car that morning, the cover of the manual key-way on the driver’s side door was missing. I asked the valet attendant to search for it where the car was parked in case it came off during parking, but he was unable to find it. I continued to ask about the missing car part through the day each time I retrieved my car without any luck. Having to report damage to my rental car because of a valet service that I did not want (which also takes a good 5 minutes to retrieve your car) was very...
Read moreOn Friday June 10th, 2022, there was a Fire in the Apartment Building where I live & I was Displaced & lived @ this Hilton Garden Inn for 35 Days. On Thursday June 16th there was a North American Cockroach in the Bathroom Sink Room # 508, but because I wasn't Paying for the Room that somehow Justified the Roach @ least according to the Hotel Manager Lindsay. I went from Room 508 to 908 & suffered a likely Spider Bite in my Sleep on Sunday June 26th. Orkin until July 13th. He Identified the North American Cockroach from the Picture I had taken but couldn't determine what may have caused the Bite. I've lived in Public Housing for almost Eleven Years & I have honestly Never had to contend with such atrocities as I did in this Hilton Garden Inn. For Management to think any of this was OK because after all I was Not Paying for the Room was Devastating. The Housekeeping Staff Do Not Clean yet they expect to be Tipped for doing their Job & Not doing anything. On July 13th there was also No Wi-Fi from early afternoon until sometime after 11pm. Definitely too many Negatives for me to Ever Recommend. The Wait Staff is OK, I did Lean on another Manager Koda R. who seemed to go out of his way to listen without disparaging comments, but @ the end of the day they ALL have their Employees Backs First! I want to say that I would Never Recommend or stay @ the Hilton Garden Inn to anyone Paying or Not. I'm just Glad the seemingly Never-Ending Nightmare of a...
Read moreThere are two sides to every story, first the good side. The Hilton Garden Inn on Forbes Avenue is in a convenient location on "the strip" near many museums, libraries, restaurants, a medical center, and several universities. The room had a very comfortable bed and we were given two 16 oz bottles of Nestle's drinking water.
The other side to this story is a bit longer. On my 3200 mile road trip I had the opportunity to try several major brands of hotel/motels along the way. Unfortunately the Hilton Garden Inn came out on the bottom of this comparison. It was the highest priced room on our journey and the smallest room. Other than the two bottles of water there were no extras included in the price, but we were charged $20/day for parking even though the website quoted $18/day.
To enhance our memory of the Hilton Garden Inn the valet "lost" our rental car and key. We had to provide him with a description of make, model, color, and we even informed him what level in their garage it was parked on. This was on a Sunday morning and the "B" team valets were on duty and one of them walked off to take a smoke break with a buddy as we approached. This did little for the other guests who began to stack up behind us until the remaining valet "found" and delivered our vehicle. The other over worked valet was still smoking in the alley as we departed.
This chain should take notes from Drury Inns, and Holiday Inn. This reservation was simply NOT...
