Hound Haus – East Liberty’s New All-Day Hangout for You and Your Pup Just opened in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood, Hound Haus is a creative new venue that combines a coffee shop, bar, event space, and off-leash dog park—all under one roof. Whether you’re looking to get work done with a coffee, wind down with a beer, or let your pup burn off some energy, this is the spot. I stopped in and tried their maple vanilla latte, which was super cozy and comforting—perfectly balanced and not too sweet. I also had a warm muffin that was absolutely delightful. The drinks are crafted with Commonplace Coffee, and there’s a rotating selection of prepackaged sandwiches, salads, and baked goods through Catapult Culinary available all day. The space itself is bright, modern, and immaculately clean. You can sit inside or out on the dog-friendly patio, where pups can roam while you relax. Dogs do need to be registered at the front check-in station and must be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and at least 4 months old. Hound Haus offers daily, monthly, and annual passes—but you don’t need to bring a dog to enjoy the vibe. It’s a welcoming place for anyone to sip, snack, and socialize (furry friends optional). The owner is incredibly friendly and clearly passionate about creating a space that’s both functional and fun. Whether you're a dog owner or just a dog lover, Hound Haus is worth a visit. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

I'm not a dog owner, but I welcome any and all cafes in the area. Even sans pup, HH is a lovely spot to spend the afternoon. I'd come hang on the patio just to watch dogs at play. Nice selection of drinks and eats (they're still getting the menu together), and adult beverages as well. Best part for me, they're open till 8:00. Nice to see after COVID killed later operating hours.

Our favorite place in Pittsburgh to bring the dog and hang out. Added bonus of getting to pet all the other dogs too! Everyone on staff is lovely and attentive, and even helped us throw a birthday party for Kona. The food and drinks are delicious, and represent a great selection of local businesses. 10/10 would recommend

I love this place! Mornings are more chill and match my dog's energy. He's picky about vibes (don't ask me- he decides who's cool), and can usually find another dog to run around with. There are people outside who monitor things if you need to run to the restroom or order food. The place is spotless and everyone is friendly. The off-leash area is large and covered with wood chips. There is also a small dog area, but I haven't seen anyone really use it because all the dogs seem ok with each other. They have both outdoor and indoor dog-friendly seating. I went this morning (a chillier one) and they already had the outdoor heaters up and running! I'm excited to have Hound Haus as an option, especially going into the...

I love anywhere I can take my furry son and get a drink. Service, options, & hospitality to me and Alpha were top notch. I felt safe to enjoy my beer and bagel without constant eyes on Alpha because of the security provided by the attendants AND other patrons (added bonus everyone & their pet children were awesome.) Will definitely be back. Only con- large mulch was not friendly for the bigger paws, will probably break down more over time/use so honestly just something for the pups...
