You’ve gotta try the amazing food at Loaded and Toma at Lawrence Hall, the new food hall in Lawrenceville. Loaded Food Group invited me to try out a selection of items and everything was so good. Starting with Loaded, they are an American fusion concept specializing in big flavors and bold combinations. We got the Thai Taki and Bang Bang Korean Corn Dogs. I liked the Bang Bang sauce on the Bang Bang Dog and the spicy flavors of the spicy mayo and sweet chili on the Thai Taki are the stand out. Then we moved on to the fried chicken sandwiches like a delicious ghost pepper seasoned one with blueberry sauce and Leona’s vanilla ice cream and the Bang Bang Bird with the Bang Bang Sauce and pickled onions. They also have smashburgers, fries, and wings. We tried the Tomato Bacon Jam Smashy which has a family recipe inspired tomato jam that was then modified with bacon. The last thing we got from Loaded was the Drunken Goat Fries, which had a nice savory and sweet combo with the Whiskey Peach BBQ sauce and goat cheese toppings. Next, we tasted dishes from Toma, a concept featuring a modern take on Italian food classics. Our favorite was the Brisket Ravioli which was so savory and included a little hint of ricotta. We also loved the Pork Shank Osso Bucco, which was also savory with sweetness from the vegetables. I can’t wait to go back to Lawrence Hall to try more from Loaded and Toma as well as all the other concepts. 📍Lawrence Hall is at 4609 Butler Street, Pittsburgh, PA. #Pittsburgh #pgh #pittsburghfood #pittsburgheats #eatpgh #food #foodie #foodies #lawrenceville #foodhall #comfortfood #italianfood

Honestly, I still don't know quite what to make of the experience, though it was totally pleasant. If you're wondering what to expect, think high-end food court with a bar. We went to Lawrence Hall for dinner early on a Tuesday with some friends, so the place was not at all busy. We got our food in a timely manner, and the food was good. I read through the website to get a pretty good idea of what to expect, and I recommend doing so before you go. While the website leads you to expect to basically bus your own table, there are servers there who actually seem to prefer that you let them do it. (Possibly on busier nights it's a little more self-serve.) Still, the wait staff could not have been kinder or more welcoming and helpful. Also, yes, the option for each person to order from a different "restaurant" does mean that the food will not all come out at the same time. In concept that seemed fine, but in actuality it felt a little rude to start eating when our friends' food hadn't come out yet. At the same time, however, my food came out only slightly warm, as did my wife's, so waiting for the rest of the food to arrive would not have helped that situation. I'm not sure if the plates waited in the pass too long, which seems unlikely since the food came out fairly quickly, or whether, as others have suggested, it was re-warmed insufficiently in a microwave. Still, everyone liked their food. Our group ordered from Toma and La Palapa. Ultimately, I wouldn't object to going there again, but it wouldn't be my first choice. For the price, there are better places to eat in Lawrenceville, especially, but it's a good choice if people can't agree on cuisine, or if you want to make sure you "go Dutch," as ordering takes place on an app with a QR code or standing in line at the...

Was excited to try this place, and was sadly disappointed. To be fair, Lawrenceville Hall just opened and has been extremely busy since opening. Some of the problems may just be "growing pains", so take this early review lightly.

The space is beautifully done, very attractive and cozy for its size and really has a communal feel. There are tons of tables, the space is well decorated, and has a nice ambiance.

The service is sort of awkward. You order on your phone, and it eventually just shows up. I'm never a huge fan of these highly disconnected customer experiences, but this is also just how the establishment operates and I can't really complain as it suits the hall well.

The food, well... The whole point of coming is to eat, and there isn't a ton of variety. I had a difficult time picking something that felt like it was worth the above average prices, and when it came I was extremely disappointed. I ordered a vodka pasta from Tomi, and added sausage (a 6$ option) and it was easily the worst vodka sauce dish I have had. It was lacking in really ANY flavor, and the 6$ extra I paid for sausage? There was maybe 1/3 a sausage link worth of obliterated sausage pieces with my pasta, which also had zero flavor. I paid 20$ for a pasta dish that could have easily been beat by a can of sauce and box of pasta at the grocery story, which was incredibly disappointing.

At these prices, I will just opt to elsewhere (or at home). There is no shortage of good food in Lawrenceville, and sadly this place is not worth it...

I'm really not a fan of these food halls but since I wanted to support the restaurant, Cuddy's, I decided to give it a try. Try Uber because parking is extremely difficult in this area. We arrived around 5:45 p.m., on a Friday and we got lucky. There were a few seats and tables still open but when we left out, a little after 7 p.m., there was a crowd waiting outside. If you've never been to these types of food halls, you go in, seat yourself, scan the bar code, that's in front of you , from your phone, and when the website pops up on your phone, you click on it and you basically order and pay for everything from your phone, including your alcoholic beverages. Someone comes and brings you your food and beverages. The service was very quick, the evening we went and my margarita was strong, so they do not sell weak watered down drinks here. The food I ordered, from Cuddy's, was very flavorful. My only complaint with these food halls is if you want condiments, then I have no idea what you're supposed to do. I wanted some hot sauce for my collard greens and a little salt and pepper for my Mac and cheese but there's no way, that "I" seen, how to ask for those types of things when you order this stuff from your phone. Overall, the experience was OK but it wasn't anything going on, that major, that would make me want to return to sit down and eat here again. You do, I believe, have an option to walk up to any of the restaurant options, they have here, and order food...
