Truly one of the most underwhelming, disappointing places in Pittsburgh.
We ended up here for trivia with out of state visitors who wanted to see Lawrenceville. I would of preferred anywhere else. There is no table service, so if you want in and sit down no one tells you you have to order at the bar. There is also only one bartender.
The trivia was a joke, I’ve been doing trivia for over 8 years and this was not even trivia. It was super obscure questions in no category that no one knew the answers of. Also every answer had to be written on paper and turned into the host so you can imagine how long it took. The group that won clearly knew the host for the event.
Once you get to the bar, the bartender didn’t really seem to enjoy what she’s doing. There’s a sign on the wall that says “shots” and “bartenders choice” so I asked her what the shot was, she said “idk whatever I feel like making” and proceeded to not give me an answer. We ordered 2 key lime pie shots that tasted like straight sours and a Maple Old Fashioned that was not maple at all, just whiskey with a cinnamon stick in it.
The food was truly disappointing, we ordered the Bison sliders and the Gnocchi Tots. The Bison Sliders were pricy at $16 and tasteless, the Gnocchi Tots were in a side bowl for $10 it was so small it couldn’t even be an appetizer. They were also so spicy they were INEDIBLE. We are a table that likes spicy food, but they took whole peppers, sliced them and put them in the sauce seeds and all. Truly not a...

Read moreI had recommended this place a few weeks back to a few of my friends. So we get there around 10 ish on a Sat night. Place was packed, we were actually lucky to grab a 6 top as the waitresses were cleaning it off. So they saw us sit down (6 of us) but none of them mentioned menus, if not eating go to the bar, etc. I get you are busy but a 2 second heads up would have been appreciated. The one waitress kept walking past us to another table along the wall (so another reason we assumed she would be over) well when we finally got her attention she very rudely asked if we were ordering food. At least 3 of 6 wanted to. She rolled her eyes (very visably-didnt even try to hide it) and said the she would bring them over as soon as she got to it. Wow really it's like that? Ok once again it's busy yes, but we were paying customers (first time customers at that) we all got up and left. Bob down at NPL got a pretty decent tip because of his awesome service and repeat customers. I'm sad to say I won't be back to New Amsterdam due to...
