Today I ordered my favorite Indian dish, Chicken Tikka Masala from a restaurant I had not ordered from, the Prince of India Restaurant in Oakland. I placed my order online and had it delivered. The only delivery service was through Postmates. This was my first experience with Postmates as well. From the time of order to the time of delivery was about 50 minutes. I was approximately 6-9 miles away.

The order was hot and fresh. I first noticed though that there was no side of the sauce of which I ordered, but rather a lot in the chicken dish instead. The portion was an average amount, but could have included more chicken. The rice portion was the same size as typical Chinese take out. They could spare to have a more generous portion of Basmati Rice. I ordered two pieces of naan; garlic and buttered naan. They too were hot and fresh.

I usually enjoy spicy foods and thus ordered my chicken "hot". It was indeed hot. Probably the hottest I've ever had for Chicken Tikka Masala. The flavor was full of spice though and tasty. I did notice a pretty significant layer of oil or grease on the top of the sauce. The flavor of the rice was good, but seemed to be a little old. The bread was average. It was thin and really didn't stand out to be anything extraordinary.

The reason I rate this place 3 stars is the lack of attention to detail. The food quality was ok, to pricey for the portions, no silverware, napkins or plates were given and the order incomplete. I specifically left a note requesting extra masala sauce on the side. Instead my chicken was drowning in sauce. Now I love the sauce anyways so it wasn't a huge issue, but rather the principle of the matter. The delivery was longer than expected, but that could have been on the driver. Lastly, it said there was no delivery fee yet $3.99 was charged for a delivery fee. I paid $24 for Chicken Tikka Masala, rice and two pieces of bread.

Overall I would recommend this restaurant and would like to go there during a buffet time, but it would not be the first Indian restaurant in...

Meh. We wont be back. 1st and last time. They gave me a dirty obviously used cup with lip marks, finger prints and condensation on it when I first sat down. Buffet is small and the food was salty and bland. The chicken in the Tikka was huge chunks and tasted like it was reheated from yesterday. I drove all the way from Altoona PA to eat here for Mother's Day. I left hungry and really disappointed. I have been to 9 different Indian restaurants all over the country including NYC, Colorado, Hawaii, California, Arizona, and NJ and this is the worst Indian food (if that's what you can even call it) I have ever tried. I have had to wait 7 months to be able to go out to eat and I picked Indian food and it was so disappointing that I dont even have the words and I would rather just forget about it. I cried before paying the check and service was so sparse that I couldn't even get a clean napkin to wipe my tears. Horrible experience.

Fast forward to today: Last night my my entire family was sick with food poisoning. My son vomited and my husband and I had diarrhea. The only thing we all ate was the food at this place. My daughter also had diarrhea last night but she only took one or two bites of the disgusting food so it wasn't as bad as the rest of us. AVOID THIS PLACE...

Been to this place a week ago on a sunday night for buffet Well i never ever do reviews of any sort but this particular experience is making me do so Sorry guys! totally dissappointed with the menu. STARTERS : channa salad (very cold) pakoda chicken drumstick (almost seemed like crow legs coz there was no flesh to it) Chai (hot & refreshing) —————————————————————————— MAIN COURSE : Jeera rice (almost dry) Garlic/plain Naan ( Fresh and hot - well... definitely one star for this) Channa masala (watery) mixed vegetable curry (blunt) Saag Chicken tikka masala ——————————————————————————- DESSERT : Gulab jamun —————————————————————————— We are definitely not going back to this coz Firstly, the customer service was awful... he dint care to greet, neither a Hi or bye!! The Elder person(maybe the owner) was kind enough to walk by and give a warm smile

Secondly, man the menu!!!! :( only chicken?? how about a mutton dish?? or atleast an egg salad/starter because there is chickpeas everywhere(salad/curry)

Thirdly, this place is in downtown... no nearby parking available

Honestly, only few restaurants do night buffets over the weekend... you guys need to be appreciated for that but please up your game to reach greater heights No hard feelings......

We ordered our food at home through GrubHub. First of all, All the dishes were stale. It seemed they were cooked 2 days before and they just microwaved it before sending it to us. Second, our order came wrong. We ordered 2 Dal Tadka and they gave us Dal Makhani. The Rotis were so thick nobody could chew them. It was one of the worst dining experience of my life. We had our friends at home eagerly waiting and we had to Dump it all and order Taco Bell. Reply to the Response from the owner: Hi, First of all, getting full refund does not mean I should not write the review. The food was COMPLETELY STALE, we dumped it all. Second, I think you came to our house at 10:30 PM at Night inspecting if we are telling the truth or not (We were very compliant BTW). You saw that we dumped the food and yet you trying to defend yourself. On top of that, you didn't take a look at the dishes which were most stale.(Vegetable Jalfrezi was most stale and you did not take that curry with you and only took dal tadka with you) If you call what you gave us DAL TADKA, I suggest you change the photo you uploaded (picture attached below) on GRUBHUB. I suggest anyone who is ordering to confirm with the restaurant first.

My husband decided to try this place and I'm glad he did. He ordered it via door dash and it came nice and hot. Chicken Samosa: They were delicious 😋. The green sauce was no Bueno but the brown sauce was mmm mmm good. These were the highlight of the dinner. Lamb Curry: Baby that Lamb was tender as they come. It's more gravy like but the combination was alright with me. Chicken Tikka Masla: My husband enjoyed it. I'm not such a fan of spice and but he tore it out. I'll definitely order from here again.
